Travel now?

Hello surfers. I am Rene and i am from germany. I am planing to travel for the first time Venezuela but actually i dont know, how the situation is right now. I would visit in february for 2-3 weeks. i dont know how we can come into the country. i have heard that some airlines are not flying into the country.

I am a Greek Cypriot, I have never been to Venezuela nor anywhere in the American continent south of Mexico, so I am the least eligible person to advise you, but as a fellow human being, I have to express my concern, because apart from the US naval assets in the region since August, what happened at the oil tanker yesterday etc makes many people feel that the US and Venezuela are at the brink of war: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LqXWQ8ZjXZQ

Of course these may be exaggeration and maybe absolutely nothing happens. But can you be sure?

Do you really have a compelling reason to enter a country which may be at war at any point? If the government falls, there may be chaos, anarchy and street crime. No one wishes for this to happen but it's most certainly best that you are not there if it does!

Hallo René, do you speak some Spanish? There is a group that you can ask directly to people traveling currently there. We were in Venezuela and I can say It was one of my favourite countries in Latin America.

I think regarding this thing of US, that's just media stuff but, better If your embassy official website says you are good to go, then, Trust them.

It is a hectic country so always there is something going on, We were in a "momentum" like that last year and we had an amazing experience.
