Anyone up for joining me? "Dance together on stage for one night! Dance karaoke is karaoke with and in motion. In the months leading up to the opening of NEST, Viennese dance enthusiasts and employees of the Vienna State Opera danced to their favorite songs in front of the camera of performance artist and choreographer Willi Dorner - in the theater, between cables and tools in the NEST construction site, in the offices of the State Opera and in other places in the city, dancing music was celebrated, from the hits of the 90s to Afghan pop music, rap and funk to the current charts. The resulting video material was used to produce dance clipsfrom which the audience can choose on the dance karaoke evenings. The clips are projected onto the screen and the audience dances together on stage and in the spotlight to the sound of a live DJ. Dance karaoke is a format in the new 'celebration & theater series' Drinks & Strings. Here, everyone is invited not only to dance together, but also to relax with a drink, cheer others on as they dance and celebrate."
