CURRENT MISSION Tourist guide ABOUT ME hi everyone I'm Mehmet from turkey , ..I would describe myself as a very determined and highly motivated person. I do take my job seriously but I’m able to see things in perspective and believe I’m quite easy-going to work with. I’m an optimist rather than a pessimist but I’m also a realist and I cope well when the going gets tough; I am very good at finding solutions to problems a. Above all, I would say I am a positive and enthusiastic person who loves to travel Through CS I have met fantastic people - whom I had a great time with - and still nowadays it is a place where we learn and discover. Of course no perfect place exists, and I have (rarely) received guests who were more concerned about searching for a free place to stay and stayed to hosts that would not care about hosting. Disappointed? Not really: it is the real world. It doesn't change the fact that, in my personal experience, CS has proven to be an awesome community. PHILOSOPHY “One, remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Two, never give up work. Work gives you meaning and purpose and life is empty without it. Three, if you are lucky enough to find love, remember it is there and don't throw it away.”
📌 About Me I’m a 36-year-old guy 😊 After spending 12 years in Istanbul, I moved to Gaziantep. So far, I’ve visited more than 45 countries 🌍✈️ Traveling, working, and meeting new people are my passions. I love discovering new cultures, traditions, and places 🎭✨ I’m also learning German 🇩🇪, I enjoy cooking 🍳, and I live with my two lovely cats 🐱🐱 (sometimes they are my bosses 😼). Always open to meaningful connections and good company 🤝🙂 Instagram: @mr.babakishief ⸻ 📌 Philosophy Love is universal 💫 Aşk • Liebe • Любовь • عشق • אהבה • Amour… No matter the language, love is always glorious 🌍❤️
CURRENT MISSION More than simply visiting new countries, I want to discover new worlds. For me, travelling is not just about seeing famous places, taking photos, or ticking another country off the map. I enjoy discovering a city through the stories of the people who live there, its music, food, everyday life, and sometimes through a long and meaningful conversation. So far, I’ve had the chance to travel to countries such as Romania, Hungary, the Netherlands, Portugal, Italy, and Thailand. Every journey has given me something different, and over time I’ve realized that what I remember most is often not the buildings or landmarks I saw, but the people I met and the small moments we shared. That is exactly what I’m looking for on Couchsurfing: meeting people from different cultures, building genuine friendships, collecting meaningful stories, and discovering the world through other people’s perspectives. ABOUT ME I’m cheerful, curious, helpful, and someone who genuinely enjoys connecting with people. I love meeting new people, listening to different life stories, and learning something unexpected from someone I’ve just met. One of the biggest parts of my life is music. For me, music is much more than simply listening to songs. I sing songs in seven different languages, and I see music as a door into different cultures. When I become curious about a country, one of the first things I often do is explore its music. The language, melodies, emotions, and stories behind songs can tell you so much about a culture. That is why I also use music as a **way to travel and discover the world**. Sometimes a single song can create a connection between two people who have never met before. Even when you don’t speak the same language, music can give you something in common. Through Couchsurfing, I would love to discover music from different countries, share some of the songs I love, and learn something about other cultures directly from the people who live them. My other big passion is cinema. I enjoy having long conversations about a good film, discovering movies from different countries, and seeing how differently people can interpret the same story. But one of the things I enjoy most is simply a good conversation. Exploring a city together, trying local food, sitting somewhere with coffee and talking for hours, sharing music, or doing something spontaneous without much of a plan — these are some of my favourite parts of travelling. I appreciate people who are sincere, honest, open-minded, and comfortable being themselves. PHILOSOPHY I believe that every person we meet has something to teach us. Sometimes one person can teach you more about a country than any travel guide ever could. Sometimes a song can make you curious about a new language. And sometimes a conversation that begins completely by chance can turn into a friendship you remember for years. That’s why I try to go through life without losing my curiosity. I want to discover new places, understand different perspectives, keep growing as a person, and experience life through as many different windows as possible. At the end of a journey, instead of simply being able to say, “I’ve been there,” I would much rather be able to say, “I met wonderful people there, learned something new, and came home with a great story.” Maybe that’s why some of my favourite travel memories are not the things I planned, but the encounters I never expected.

Like others here, I'm interested in learning about every city's and country's culture, history, nature and like traveling across the world little by little all through my lifetime. I sometimes try to give myself a chance of putting my feet out of normality to get disconnected from everyday routines; as Vincent van Gogh has said it in a better way: Normality is a paved road, it's comfortable to walk, but no flowers grow on it. 🚶🏻🌱 🌎 🌱 🗺️ Some suggestions to try and visit in Gaziantep ⬇️ Special Breakfasts: https://youtu.be/NlOETfAy5RA https://youtu.be/BHURyCD2DTQ Zeugma Museum: https://youtu.be/bD3dOFQ8jqk Menengich Coffee at Bazaar: https://youtu.be/9G_Mx8AwRiI Rumkale & Halfeti Boat Ride: https://youtu.be/EdXdGy_70W4

Hey! I’m Maan — a civil engineer turned humanitarian with field experience across Ukraine, Gaza, Bangladesh, Sudan, Colombia, Mexico, Yemen, Lebanon, and Syria 🌍 I’ve spent years working to support people in crisis, and now I travel to meet people, hear their stories, and understand the world beyond borders. When I’m not on the field, I’m probably deep in a book about war, migration, or conspiracy theories — or lost in a playlist that goes from Biggie and Nas to Lana Del Rey and Bruno Mars 🎧🔥 I love all types of music, as long as it makes me feel something. Massive FC Barcelona fan ⚽ (emotionally attached and fully unashamed), fluent in Arabic, English &; Turkish, and always craving new food, new cultures, and honest connection. I’m social, open-minded, and genuinely interested in how people live — what they eat, what they believe, what they laugh at. I do take life seriously — but I’ll smile wider if you’ve got a great sense of humor. I enjoy meaningful connections, sarcasm, real laughs, and learning how people live and love around the world. I can chill solo, but I love becoming that friend you didn’t know you needed.
ABOUT ME World is really amazing, especially meeting with new people from all around the world is my best hobby, every person is like a world , and i would love to discover new world, i dont know how to say more about me, i just let people discover me. I have lots of fun with my friends.
