Holaaa, I am Ella from Germany. I am currently living in Salamanca, Spain together with 8 other volunteers in the “Casa Europa”. We all come from different parts of Europe, but now we are sharing this time together in the amazing city of Salamanca. And we want to invite you to be part of our little international group while your visit in Salamanca! We are an active and fun bunch of people, who are looking for other fun people, that wanna share some time and teach us about their culture <3 And be ready for a little fun task, that we will give you while you are here :) (We are talking in Spanish or English in the house, but with some of us you could practice your German/Italian/French or polish).

CURRENT MISSION Travel when we have time and energy for it! ABOUT ME We are two girls who live with our two daughters Tuva (born November 1th 2013), Synne (Born may 30th 2016). We also have a dog named Sammy. He is big but friendly 🙂 We love to travel and are looking forward to get to know new people around the world. We like long hikes but do it too rarely, fishing, cafe, movies, although life with two kids makes less time and energy for all out-of-the-house activities! A couple of glasses of wine next too our fireplace and playing boardgames is something we can offer our guest. Its important for us that our guest can relax and feel at home when there are in our home. Dont be afraid to ask us for anything. Sadly, that's not for everyone in here. So I don't want to be part of a mass request. Please only ask one person at a time, because everyone is human here and deserves respect. Therefore, I like it when people respond to requests. As an active host, I receive many requests and I plan my time accordingly. I enjoy helping people, but I am feeling misused when I get canceled, then. - Some people don’t host surfers if they don’t have any reference, but I don`t care. If you haven’t yet asked yourself, "Why do I do what I do?", the time to reflect is now. While it's possible to pursue any career or activity, if your sole motivation is just to earn money or seek pleasure, it might be worth reconsidering your path. I’m here and happy to reflect on this together with you. :) Currently, I have two major goals. My primary goal is to build up great connections with people, make memories, and fight back against all the horrible things in this world, such as fascism, climate change, hate speech, white supremacy, sexism, and so on. My secondary goal is to become a professor in computer science in the near future. The latter one occupies most of my time right now. It surprises me to find myself on this journey. Just a few years ago, I was involved in activism, occupying forests, and striving to create a better society. However, my disillusionment with the state's use of violence and the lack of effective means to achieve social and climate justice led me to change course and I became an active Christian. After being disappointed by “the church,” I again had to rediscover what I am living for. Now, I focus on mathematics and want to find out how to be a useful part of society. My PhD thesis explores several biological questions related to the mass extinction of animals from an algorithmic perspective. While I’m unsure if this contributes to societal change, at least it feels non-harmful. Ultimately, my goal is to leave a positive impact on society. To achieve this, I aspire to embody values that have become essential to me, such as meekness, generosity, and love for those around me. Along the way, I hope to connect with great people and create memorable experiences with friends. ABOUT ME In my life, I have tried many things and then followed through pretty consistently. To give just a small list of them: I was successful in my studies, I visited many soccer stadiums, I was quite successful in party politics, I occupied forests, enrolled as a missionary, and and and. A very colorful bouquet of life experiences. An interesting fact about me: I share all my money in a group. So we do not have to be lone warriors. Please dare to ask me more about that if you are interested. For me, it is important not to live on the cost of others. Minimalism and living mostly in harmony with nature are two of my top ideals. UPCOMING TRAVEL PLANS … I traveled so much recently that I do not have concrete plans.
