Hi there! :) My name is Saimir, and I'm from Saranda. I graduated in Law, but I currently work in tourism as a property manager. Before that, I was a local coordinator for European volunteers (EVS) with an NGO in Tirana. I'm told I'm social and quite open-minded, though if they've misled me, then I might be misleading you too! :D I began traveling abroad at the start of 2011, and it's been so amazing that I don't want to stop. I enjoy playing football, swimming, and walking. I've never smoked a cigarette in my life. I love parties but have a complicated relationship with alcohol - while I don't like it, it seems to like me, so I can't always refuse! I'm fascinated by history and politics and eager to learn more by meeting people from diverse cultures.

Hiking, camping, anything that has to do with enjoying the outdoors. But enough about me ;) Below is a copy/paste that I send to people visiting Corfu, hopefully it'll give you ideas about which places to visit. Just Google the names. So... The best beaches of the Island are all in the west side: Paleocastritsa, Liapades, Myrtiotyssa, Glyfada, Agios Gordis. To the south : Aghios Georgios, Megas Choros, Issos and the Halicunas Lagoon are the best places, really amazing scenery. Up north the best are Porto Timoni, Canal d'amour, Aghios Georghios pagon and Arilas. If you're into hiking and exploring, the peak of Pantocrator mountain range (highest in the island) has some really nice trails leading to an ancient monastery with lovely artwork and 360* views of all the island, the route is very picturesqe and definitely worth it. When in Corfu city you should check out Mon repos palace, it's a small park with tall trees, the palace, ancient ruins and a wonderful beach with crystal clear waters. Around Corfu there are couple of islands, the 3 to the north -Othoni, Erikousa, Mathraki - are non touristic and steeped in nature. Also opposite of the port of Corfu town, is a small island called -Vido- a hidden gem. And finally to the south, VIP Paxos and Antipaxos which are frequented by the ultra rich and socialites. Public transport leaves alot to be desired so the island is best explored by car or motorcycle. I think this should cover the basics :) Enjoy Corfu! ABOUT ME Chiselling away in Corfu.
