CURRENT MISSION Meet people, learn new things and find a way to work less and explore more. ABOUT ME Almost always happy, because every day above ground is a good day. I think CS is great because I love meeting new people and learning about their lives. I live in Moab, a very beautiful and powerful place in the high deserts of southern Utah. My partners and I own and operate a camping store and a small manufacturing business where we make a unique LED light that we invented. Living in Moab which is an incredible tourist destination, I get 3 - 5 requests a week during the season and I travel a fair bit for work and pleasure which is why I say no to a lot of requests. Don't feel bad if I say know, it isn't personal, just can't host all the time. Other reasons I might say know is that to me CS is about meeting people, getting to know them, learning about their life/culture etc. I find that many times people don't even take the time to read my profile, I've even had CSers that just cut and paste the same request to every host, sometimes not even changing the host name in the greeting. Can't tell you how many times I've had requests to me using the wrong name. The spirit of couch surfing is to get to know people not to just be a free p[lace to shit, shower and sleep. I haven't hosted since covid started but I think I'm ready to have guests again. It is important to me that all guests are fully vaccinated, as I have no spleen and am immune compromised. Hosting is fun but not with dying over. I have a two night minimum because one night stays are once again just a place to shit, shower, and sleep with no time to actually get to know each other. The Moab area is an incredibly powerful place with mind blowing natural features. There are literally millions of rock formations and thousands of canyons. By way of seeing if people are taking the time to actually read my profile you must include the phrase, the magical desert, in your request. I am picky about who I choose to host and just can't say yes to all the requests. If I say no, I hope you will find a great host to stay with. I look forward to hosting again as I have met some amazing people through CS. Wether I'm able to host you or not, thank you for taking the time to read this. PHILOSOPHY I believe the majority of the people on planet earth are good people who just want to live, love and evolve. Unfortunately often the ones in power are self serving greedy people who seek more power at the expense of others. That being said I still have loads of hope for the world. Would love to see people let go of there primitive religious beliefs, and start believing in each other. For me, every day above ground is a good day, and if you don't learn something new every day, you're not paying attention!
Hi! I'm Mali. I live in Moab, UT but I am originally from South Dakota. I love drawing, motorcycles, embroidery, and getting out to the desert. I am a very progressive, accepting person who wants to learn about the world from a new perspective. I love outdoor adventures or a good party or a night in reading. There are currently 118 things on my bucket list and I'm determined to finish it!

I'm a 'glass half full' kind of girl who chooses to see the bright side of any situation, even if it's to a fault. I'm passionate about volunteerism and community service, and I think one of the most powerful characteristics one can possess is kindness. Another passion is regenerative living and exploring ways to leave as little of a negative impact on this planet as possible. I strive to live a life of "waste not, want not". I have been consciously trying to decrease my general consumption, phase out my use of plastic (especially single-use plastic) and sequester 'used' plastic from entering the biosphere by making ecobricks...ecobricks are awesome you should check it out... https://www.ecobricks.org/what/ I'm madly and deeply in love with my husband and twin flame, who is also my main squeeze and travel partner...you can find his profile here: https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/brad.walker My family and friends mean everything to me, and I love to make connections and meet new people as well. I'm naturally an introvert, but I have an immense comfortability with revealing myself and being open to others in a smaller or more one-on-one type of setting. However, I've learned to challenge myself and try to embrace interactions in group gatherings/parties rather than retreat or feel self-conscious. My dad is my hero and one of my best friends. I have an innate need to be active and outdoors, so I especially like to focus my non-working time around hiking, biking, kayaking, hula-hooping, weight-lifting, running, playing on playgrounds, sometimes just laying in the grass, and seeing as much live music as possible. But, I also appreciate the home-body quiet days of listening to records, reading books, writing in my journal and just hanging out with Brad. I'm just a gypsy girl trying to live the good life everyday.
I'm a nomadic activist that loves animals, speaking up for the voiceless, mother earth, being in nature, and eating fruit.
Multi-hyphenate in love with living in Moab after 11 years of on and off presence. I'm a professional dancer, stylist, curator, petsitter, death doula, evolving artist, and recovering nomad and former attorney. I love being able to do a bit of everything I love and somehow still make the rent and make it off to excursions elsewhere after years of traveling (without a base) in my car or through pet sitting.
CURRENT MISSION To make peace with this human experience and to explore life with curiosity, embrace growth and to remember to learn from all situations and circumstances using it all to propel me to the next level. And to be open and honest, practice good communication and remain present with all that this human experience brings. ABOUT I want to see the world. I want to breathe the air on every continent. I crave connection and human interaction. I’m just on this plane going with the flow and taking it as it goes cause this shit didn’t come with a brochure so I’m making it up as I go. I value open and honest communication. Feel free to ask any questions you might have. I've lived in the Moab area for 25+ years and enjoy bike riding, hiking, and 4x4 exploring the desert. I have traveled Europe, China, New Zealand, and other places around the world.
I am a Disaster Communicator (Public Information Officer) and storyteller living in the rural community of Moab, Utah. My life revolves around moments of chaos as I work on the frontline of our climate crisis. When they are not working on disasters, I make art and live a quiet life in my small desert town.
