COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE I've hosted people from all over the world, and many of them I now consider my friends. My first was an 18-year-old Frenchman finding his way across the United States and open-minded enough to want to spend three days exploring New York's Capital Region (we're still in touch). I've had people stay here who were going to the local university, or just passing through for an evening. One fellow helped me with a construction project. Several have cooked some amazing meals. I'm always happy to show people this little piece of upstate New York take them on a tour, bring them to whatever cultural evening is happening when they are here -- or just provide a quiet, comfortable place to spend the night.
