I think, staying at a locals house while traveling offers you so much real experience of what the country is like and how people live here - and that's what traveling is all about, isnt' it? Besides I really like the idea of having friends all around the world.

I like to listen to music, meet my friends, play parlor games, write postcards or do some sports (swimming, biking, jogging, skipping..).
