CURRENT MISSION I enjoy teaching physics at an urban school. My current mission is to use my teaching talents to make a positive impact on the lives of my students. I'm getting them to believe that they can learn anything that they want to with effective effort and that the way the universe works is wondrous and sometimes mysterious but not ultimately unfathomable. ABOUT ME I'm a married, middle-aged physics teacher post-Vertex molecular biologist. My wife and I are newly empty nested and are making that life changing adjustment. We're both enjoying good health and it's great to have some smooth sailing after some fairly rough seas knock on wood twice.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
Firstly, I like the idea of hosting. I can make the analogy to teaching pretty easily: Everyone learns (couchsurfs) slightly differently and a great teacher (couchsurfing host) differentiates the learning (couchsurfing) experience accordingly. Secondly, now that Pablo is at Stanford (yes, I tell everyone. Wouldn't you?) we have the time and extra room to host and travel and get to know you better.
Música, películas y libros
Music: Went to the Met for the first time 12/14. Loved it. Varied musical tastes. I really don't understand why Nickleback is so... Movies: Bergman, Allen, Kubrick, Kurosawa, Kieslowski, Coen Brothers, B-movies. Japanese horror, costume dramas. Love movies.
Una cosa increíble que he hecho
Bicycled from Seattle to San Diego
Enseña, aprende, comparte
Sierra Nevada Torpedo. Not a fan of double IPAs with higher alcohol content.
Lo que puedo ofrecer a los hosts
Nice room with private bath in our colonial home. Dinner and a movie if desired.
Mis intereses
Teaching, growing rhododendrons, volunteering, listening to audiobooks while driving, cooking, finding the perfect IPA
