HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING I've traveled and been hosted and met up with people. My current place has no place for anyone to crash but hopefully soon I will have a better place. COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE Stayed with one CSer in Shenzhen, plan to visit him and his family again this next year.I had just joined CS in May 2011, and had a trip planned to visit some friends in Sri Lanka in June. They had an emergency and had to leave the country right before I arrived, so I sent a message to a small group of CSers in Sri Lanka asking just to meet some people and get some recommendations on where to go. I had almost three weeks to fill, since my friends had to leave the country. The people I messaged arranged a getogether my first night there, I met a bunch of great people. Then a couple people offered to take me in without me asking, I traveled with some others I met that night, made great friends, and had the time of my life for almost 3 weeks! I wish I could host, but I'm a grad student and teacher AND I live on my university campus, so I can't house people I don't know... but one day, I will host!
