CURRENT MISSION Figuring that out as I go along...though, seeing as I am not dead yet, my mission in life must not be over. ABOUT ME A native Wyomingite, I grew up in Saratoga and Worland, WY before attending Washington University in St Louis for art and art education. After 5 humid, but forming, years, I ran away back to the mountains to work as a paraprofessional in an elementary school in Laramie, WY. When I'm not quelling pre-pubescent rampages, I enjoy riding bicycles, finding treasures (and food) in dumpsters, drinking tea at my second home (Mike and Melissa's), charitable art-making, and looking around. After two years back in Wyoming, I'm taking my next step. I will shortly be moving into Holy Family House--a Catholic Worker House of Hospitaliy in the Troost corridor of Kansas City, MO. There I will engage in an enterprise of radical Christianity--try to live out as holistically and tangibly as possible the gospel message of love and peace. PHILOSOPHY Simplify.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE To this date, I have only hosted in my home on a few occasions--my current residence is very small and not particularly conducive to hosting if privacy is a concern. But I have spent many an evening at my friends' home while they were hosting couch surfers. I enjoyed those experiences so much that I decided it was about time to create my own profile and open my own home. This past summer I was fortunate to be able to surf for the first time as I drove across the country, which only deepened my appreciation for the whole project. ...I've also done some unintentional couchsurfing (see Amazing Thing Done below)
Música, películas y libros
Music: I find myself enjoying more and more music with an Americana bent - folk/bluegrass/country/blues Movies: At the top of the list: Baraka. More generally: documentaries--especially when they're rented for free from the library.
Una cosa increíble que he hecho
I have recently discovered that I occasionally sleepwalk--only twice that I know of. In the most recent occurrence I awoke to find myself lying on a couch in a strange apartment. Gradually realizing that this is not where I had initially fallen asleep, I quickly sneaked out the back door and climbed one floor up the fire escape to my friends' apartment where I was supposed to be sleeping.
Enseña, aprende, comparte
I enjoy hearing and learning from others' experiences and perspectives--especially when they're different from mine. Quality time spent in meaningful conversation (perhaps over a meal or a cup of tea or coffee) is probably the best way I can spend my time. Trained as an artist and art teacher, I am fairly well versed in a broad range of artmaking. I also enjoy working with my hands on more practical projects--repairing, building, crafting. I would like to learn more about food (new foods, food production...) and religious/faith traditions (history, traditions, perspectives, personal experiences...)
