HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING I mainly mooch. I lived in Pittsburgh, and nobody wants to go to Pittsburgh! So instead I took advantage of generous hosts in far more interesting locales. COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE Stayed with a couple folks in Portland when I was hitch-hiking and was desperately in need of a place to stay (nights can get cold in the Northwest, even in summertime it seems...). Also stayed with a wonderful young lady in Kyoto, she was Lithuanian and spoke beautiful English.
