Hi, I'm Ayla (she/her)! I'm a student at the University of Virginia studying biochemistry with a minor in women, gender, and sexuality. I love to travel and explore new places, and am so excited to be going abroad for the first time this summer! I'm a very outdoorsy person, and one of my favorite ways to get to know a new area is running or hiking around it. I'm going into my last year of college and am planning on attending medical school afterwards, so I'm taking advantage of the ability to travel and see as much of the world as I can!

I am studying abroad in Stockholm for 3 weeks this summer, and I am staying for several days after my program ends to explore the city and surrounding area. Housing is only provided for the duration of the program, so I am looking for a convenient and affordable place to stay for a few nights!
Música, películas y libros
Music: I like a mix of newer alternative/indie rock (Lorde, The Lumineers, Vance Joy) as well as some older 70s music (Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty, ABBA) Movies: The Princess Bride, Monty Python, the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and basically every rom-com ever made! Books: I read a mix of genres but in recent years I've really been enjoying nonfiction! Some of my recent favorites include When Breath Becomes Air, The Great Alone, Being Mortal, Wild, and The Lovely Bones.
Una cosa increíble que he hecho
My first year of college, I signed up for an environmental service trip over spring break to Arches National Park in Utah. During the days, we helped park rangers with invasive species removal, trail maintenance, and cleanup, and at night, we camped in the park. I had never camped before in my life, and we were all a little surprised when the temperature dropped below 20 degrees at night! Despite the freezing temperatures and challenges of camping, I learned so much and had the time of my life in one of the most spectacular places I've ever been.
Lo que puedo ofrecer a los hosts
I love to share music, food, reading, and travel recommendations, and I'm happy to answer any and all questions about traveling or living in the US! I love to cook and bake, and am a trained barista so I would be happy to help out in the kitchen. I also love animals and grew up with lots of pets, so I would be more than happy to walk a dog or help with any other pet needs!
