I feel like something magical happens every day of my life. On a recent trip home to visit family over the holidays I met three separate people in three separate airports who changed my view on the world forever. Serendipity is a very powerful force and I feel the universe likes to line up opportunities for us when we need them most and expect them least. The last time I was left speechless was the first time I experienced total silence in the middle of the wilderness more than 100 miles away from any town or human. I finally felt what it means to be a part of nature, and the bottom of the food chain.

I own a small tea shop in remote Alaska. That means 1/2 of my day is spend baking cookies and the other 1/2 is spent playing outside, playing music, doing craft projects, and walking on the beach. I can not imagine a better existence. I enjoy learning new things and meeting new people. I have a tendency to dive head first in to interesting business situations and figure them out as I go. Grant writing is one of my favorite past times, and I can't possibly imagine a life without chocolate or tea.
