Two main reasons: I just think that the best way to learn about a place is through its locals, and by that I don't mean only learning about sights to see or hidden gems etc, but the way its people think, communicate, live, and so on. The other one is that I've always kinda been a sucker for fleeting encounters. There's just something romantic about spending a limited amount of time with someone and letting your stories intertwine throughout it. Sounds pathetic, and it is, but oh well :')
