i have leared about couchsurfing from my roomate.When we had our house( we left it few moths ago) we used to host people and it was a funny and interesting experience so when i decided to start travelling i though it will be a nice way to travel , to meet locals (not always locals that's true) and learn about the place more th a tourists do because I am not a tourist...I am a traveler! Also the periods that i don't travel i love to offer a house and everything else that i can with travellers and meet new people! i am not sure if i have answered the question but it's ok... :) :P
