To experience the world and the PEOPLE that live in it! Everyone quotes Mark Twain’s saying “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness…” but in my opinion, it’s not a passive thing. It’s not guaranteed that if you travel, you’ll become more open-minded. It takes real effort, effort to meet, talk, understand and empathize with different people in their daily lives around the world. And I think that’s why I’m on couchsurfing, because it lets me meet not just travelers but people living their regular lives in their own communities.
