Part of visiting a country or a destination is the experience from both the tourist side and the local side. I am grateful to make friendships and connections that go beyond my travels. Couch surfing to me is a community where we can all learn and experience new things from strangers and future friends. My best friend is someone who I met in the airport going to Paris. We both were traveling alone. We kept in touch and have been traveling together randomly. It goes to show that you don't know where you'll meet amazing people or people that will have such a huge impact on your life. Couchsurfing facilitates these kind of experiences.
