A fellow cs who was crossing the Americas by bicycle, back in 2009 wrote me about this ``social media to get to know gringos``. I first started hosting to improve my English, then I got addicted to it. I can't imagine my life without so many amazing people I met and experiences shared. I'm on couchsurfing because life can become dull and predictable, my line of work requires lots of creativity. So I'm on couchsurfing to connect, share, hear stories and bring to my home the freshness and positive vibrations of a traveler's spirit. While I can't travel much due to my commitments, couchsurfing is a good way to getting to know other cultures and travelling without leaving your hometown.
