CS GRAZ cordially invites you to our annual highlight: STURM 2023, the cultural and fun 3 day Autumn CS Couch Crash in Graz, Austria! * This event will last from Friday, Sept 22 to Sunday, Sept 24 and is aimed to meet the Austrian, especially Styrian culture in combination with the fantastic idea of Couchsurfing. We've have organized all the activities for you for FREE. Beverages, dishes, tickets,... are to be paid by you, of course. * GRAZ (German pronunciation: [ˈɡʁaːts]) is the second-largest city in Austria [pop. 300,000] and the capital of the region Styria in the South of Austria. With almost 60,000 students and with 4 colleges and 4 universities it has a long tradition as a student city. Graz's "Old Town" is one of the best-preserved city centres in Central Europe. In 1999, it was added to the UNESCO list of World Cultural Heritage Sites. Graz was also sole Cultural Capital of Europe for 2003. * STURM [storm, from the cloudy appearance, austrian and bavarian expression] is a popular alcoholic beverage which is only available from early September to late October, typically 4% alcohol by volume. It is the product of fermented freshly pressed grape juice, known as "must". It tastes YUMMMMMYYYYYY, though be aware: 2-3 glasses a person is really enough - or you'll suffer terribly the next day [in different ways ... :)]. Sturm - from which our Gathering derived its name - is very popular in Styria in the combination with warm roasted chestnuts ["Maroni"] - and celebrating this in a rustic, typical wine tavern [typical in Styria: "Buschenschank"] will be our main event on Saturday. [Btw: Soccer Fans amongst you might know that Sturm Graz is also one of the best soccer clubs worldwide ;)] Though we are NOT sure, if Sturm only means (CS GRAZ) COUCH CRASH or comes from our delicious swill... :) Let's proof it! * Around this main event we will organize some INTERESTING and FUN ACTIVITIES [see schedule below], but the most important ingredient is cheerful, open-minded and open-hearted participants who let us create special and meaningful moments we will never forget.
