After 8 occasions in Ireland, Germany, Poland, Austria and Scotland the infamous Streetfight Gang aka Bedminster Bridge Boxing is out again, coming to your town. With forces from Utrecht, Leipzig and many more uniting in Dortmund for a long weekend full of fun, friendship and some safety shots. We're aiming to explore the best Christmas markets in the Ruhrgebiet and pay our tribute to the mining history and culture of the area. We want to see Germanys tallest Xmas tree, enjoy Glühwein, Mettbröttchen and some local beers. Get your shiniest Xmas outfits and ugliest sweaters ready for our annual Xmas market event. Programme will be updated, when we come closer to the event Thursday, 5th of December: 8pm: Dutch Sinterklaas pre-party (pepernoten, games etc). Meet at Gänsemarkt bar. Friday, 6th of December: Late morning: exploring Dortmund. We meet for a coffee, cool our headaches with some fresh air and walk around the city a bit. Afternoon: Xmas Loop. We explore some Xmas markets nearby, using public transport to get there. Return to Dortmund around 5/ 6 pm. 7pm: Ugly sweater pub crawl. Bring your best ugly sweater and Christmas decoration. We meet at the Xmas tree in Dortmund. From there we wander around the markets, stopping here and there. Later we continue to Kreuzviertel for a decent pub crawl. We will post updates on our position in our group. Ask the organizers for details Saturday, 7th of December: Late morning, Trip to Zeche Zollverein in Essen. Meeting point: 10:45 am, Dortmund Hauptbahnhof/ Main station We go out to explore one of the most famous mining sites in Germany - Zeche Zollverein, a world heritage. There's a bunch of museums and guided tours waiting for you in this stunning surrounding. Beside that, they have a xmas market and ice rink in the former mining site, that you might enjoy. Return to Dortmund around 5 pm. Entry information: Generall entry to the area is free. You pay for certain museums or tours (or ice rink, casino etc.) https://www.zollverein.de/ Some major tours (including the English one) start at 12:30pm. So we travel to be on time for them. However, there are frequent connections throughout the day. So, if you can't make it ot of bed in morning, you still can join later. Alternative: small hike around a lake. Depending on weather and public interest 7pm: Xmas dinner at Hövels Brewery. Crazy Hat party It's time for our annual christmas dinner. Hövels Brewery will host us in a seperate room. They have all the good stuff. Grühnkohl, beer in small barrels and their own house schnaps. The room has a maximum capacity of 25 people. so please make sure, to secure your spot with Oliver.
