The Phuket Por Tor Festival, also known as the Hungry Ghost Festival, is a significant merit-making event for the island's Thai-Chinese community to honor their ancestors. Centered at the Seng Tek Bel Shrine and Ranong Road market, the celebration features vibrant parades, traditional lion dances, and the offering of iconic red turtle cakes to appease spirits released from the afterlife.
