Hello Couchsurfers, As part of the Six Continents, Six Events project, we’re meeting at Tate Modern to explore the permanent collection together. This is a self-guided gathering. No official host, no tour guide, no fixed route. Just curious people walking through modern and contemporary art, sharing impressions naturally. Please be aware that this is a hostless event. Tate Modern, the best modern museum in Europe is free to visit every day, however Fridays and Saturdays, the museum open till 9 o’clock if you are nocturnal people like me or working 9 to 5, this event is perfectly for you; leave your office or home get a drink, relax and go to Tate Modern. Entry to the permanent collection is free. Inside, you can expect to encounter iconic modern masters such as Pablo Picasso, Mark Rothko, Salvador Dalí, and Henri Matisse and my favorite sculptor Giacometti. Please let me know if they still keeping the little section for Diane Arbus:) There are powerful abstract works, quiet color fields you can almost step into, surreal dreamlike pieces, and bold experiments that changed the direction of art history. You’ll also discover contemporary voices from around the world, with works exploring identity, politics, migration, memory, and resistance. The collection reflects global perspectives and different cultural experiences. The building itself is part of the experience. The former power station architecture, the vast Turbine Hall, and the views over the Thames all add to the atmosphere. This event is free, open to everyone, and intentionally simple. Come alone if you like. The idea is to encourage spontaneous connection. Walk together, pause in front of a painting, exchange thoughts, or simply share silence.
