Every year, hundreds of thousands of people gather in Santa Cruz de Tenerife to enjoy this spectacular event. In 1987, 250,000 people filled the streets, dancing to the rhythm of Celia Cruz, setting a Guinness World Record. Since then, attendance has only continued to grow, reaching an impressive 400,000 people in 2019. The Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife is very special because, in addition to the official celebration, the street carnival stands out... a total party! During these days, you can enjoy more than 100 groups, each with an average of 50 members, including murgas, comparsas, costume groups, rondallas, and musical ensembles. Thousands of people fill the streets with a dazzling display of light, sound, and color. This celebration was declared a Festival of International Tourist Interest by the Ministry of Tourism of Spain in 1980. You have to experience it! See you at the carnival!
