Is it possible to hike to the bottom of the Canyon and back in one day?

Yes it is. Depending on which trail, can be grueling. This time of year, sunrise start. Plenty of fluids/food. Hike rest ratio. It's 5000 ft. elevation change and gets hotter the lower you are. Can reach over 100+ degrees. Recommend hiking up before early afternoon or after early evening. Bright Angel trail; water/shade. Kiabab trail; no water, minimal shade.
Thanks a lot for your answer. Suppose that you suggest Bright Angel Trail?
Which of the trails is steeper and which is more beautiful?
Kindly Maria
Go down Kiabab trail to river. No water till get to ranger station on river. Awesome views. Come up Bright Angel trail. Couple miles longer but less strenuous and water along the way and still great. Wait at Indian Gardens, on the BA, till after shade is on the trail. Bout 3 or 4. When plannin on comin?
Great to know. Really helpful information. Lots of thanks! I will arrive in LA 19th of June. After that it will go to Vegas and then Grand Canyon. Maybe I will be there around the 22 of June.
Thanks a lot again!

Very welcome. Already have a host? If not, let me know. Probably have that weekend off. Have room. How many in your party? How many nights here? Let you know if can host. Might even hike with you. Would you like to stay the night in the canyon?
Thanks for your offer! I don't know exactly but at the moment it is only me. I will bring a tent so I was about to sleep at one of the free campings in the area. I wanna take a daytrip to the bottom if it is possible.
Let us keep in contact. I can send a personal message.
Have a nice day!

Hur mo du, Maria. Hope got it right. Just thought I'd let you know since you mentioned camping. The forest are being closed all over Arizona, to all camping, until we get some serious rain. Too dry. If I can help in any planning, transportation, answering questions about all above, let me know. Be glad to help, anyway I can. Be Safe, Ron.
Thanks for mention this. It is important to know esp as I was about to camp. Hopefully it will come some rain before I arrive 😀
Will update if changes.
