Art galleries, museums, bars, shopping (not expensive), architecture etc. or cities and places near-by?
Hi,
You could go to a NUMBER of coffee shops, I recommend Nexus Art Cafe and a friend recently took me to The Sugar Junction. Great atmosphere - very chilled out in Nexus.
Also as mentioned above. If you like looking at nice modern buildings I would suggest a day at the Trafford Centre or a couple of hours - its not my thing though!
The Northern Quarter has a number of bars, cafes etc. If you want to venture further South (you can get a £1 single fair to Rusholme) you can get to the curry mile and taste the culinary delights both sweet (Moonlight) and savoury (Al Madina or Lal Qila Express-its down the side street fromt he main restaurant) both offer good food at a reasonable price or you can turn down Grandale St and there is a shwerma place (its just changed its name and can't remember it) its a glass wall and door. They have decent, fresh salad to go with your Shwerma OR there is Marmara Grill their salad is amazing and a generous portion!
Moonlight make their waffles to order and their cakes are a must to try- I warn you if you have a sweet tooth you will be spoilt for choice!
I think that is enough from me... Happy hunting!
I created this map to show around friends: have a look
