Marcha Mundial Para La Paz Y La No-Violencia / World March For Peace And Nonviolence

Aucun membre1 publication

Welcome to new member!

Every time I open up this group's page, I am informed that we have 1 member. In fact, we have 2! I don't know why this isn't updated, perhaps it will take a week... Now, you might think that this is a lot of fuss to make over a single person's addition. But think of it in these terms: In the last day, our membership DOUBLED!!! Now, THAT's pretty impressive. So WELCOME, MOINSALIK (Logan)! Thanks for joining!

I believe that a lot of you out there would be interested in The World March, but you think: "WHOA!!! it doesn't start until October! There's PLENTY of time to get involved..." To that I would answer: WRONG on the first count! RIGHT on the second! (But the sooner you join, the more we can get done). The actual OFFICIAL international group of travellers will be leaving New Zealand on the 2nd of October, that's very true. But The MARCH has already begun. To take just ONE example: have a look at http://mypeace.tv/video/living-peace-sign-for-the This is a lovely but simple action that took place on the 4th of March... in IRELAND, a country that the group from New Zealand won't even be visiting. But they are ALREADY PART OF THE MARCH!* You make YOURSELF part of The March, because Peace and NonViolence are issues that touch EVERYONE! I would also like to clear up a popular misconception. We're not JUST talking about "World Peace" here. (It's SO easy to say: "I leave that up to the governments," or "It's all the fault of Yanqui Imperialism"...) We're talking about saying: "NO!!!" to Violence of ANY kind: wife-beating, violence against children, gun violence, sexism...

  • I LOVE this action! And I want to see it happen in Plaça Catalunya, Parc Güell, outside La Sagrada Família. As far as I'm concerned it could happen once a month - or even once a WEEK - from now until the travellers from NZ arrive on the 13th of November. Barcelona was the site - back in February, 2003 - of one of the biggest demonstrations in the World against the Iraq Invasion. Let's make this one EVEN bigger!
