Renting a car, what is the best option?

My girlfriend and I will be on Tenerife the 18th -21st of Feb and are looking to rent a car to be able to see more of the island. What is the best option? At the airport, a small rental place? We fly into the North and will stay in Punta del Hidalgo. Also any advice of what to see, or if anyone wants to meet up let us know. Looking forward to your responses.

By my own experience CICAR and PLUSCAR in that order. The rest have been pretty worthless to my liking.

In my opinion www.autoreisen.es is the best and most economic option. cicar has new cars, but it's pretty expensive. Don't take goldcar! They are really the worth!
