Francesinha @ Santiago
Tripas @ Abadia
Dear Miguel,
Definitely Bufete Fase for francesinhas, at Rua de Santa Catarina. Best,
Hi Miguel For Francezinha I sugggest you to go to restaurante Regaleira. This is a very typical restaurant placed near to Rivoli Theater.
Enjoy Porto.
This was the one where the first Francesinha was cooked.
In the turisc zone the best are Lado B and Bufete Fase, but for me the best of all is the made in Capa Negra II restaurant in 191, Campo Alegre Street that have a branch in Cais de Gaia called Ar de Rio with the same quality, in all this places you can try a half Francesinha or a mini
And to drink in the best places you can ever ask for a Bohemia Original (Beer) that matches with Francesinha, if not just an other beer that you prefer
It really depends on your taste. some people like it more "buttery" others less. what people said before me, are fine and you wont regret, but everyplace makes it a bit different, so people will choose according to their tastes :) For me the best in portugal is in "taberna Belga" Braga, 60km from Porto, in porto what others said are all ok :)
Thanks for the tip. I'll add it on my list if I'll go to Braga :)
The best price/value Francesinha is on tuesdays and wednesdays at Decomur, close to Museu Soares dos Reis. A very good one for 7,40 Eur is hard to find (chips included). :)
Thanks! Sadly I'm only in Porto for the weekend
Hi Miguel,
For sure the best place is Brasão Cervejaria. You can find 2 on the city center: near Aliados and another near the Coliseu. Besides being the most renowned Francesinha in Porto, is also a nice and historical place to be. I recommend to arrive early or make reservation :D
I hope you like it :D
Thanks a lot. I didn't expect that it would be so filling. But it was great!
Confeitaria Cunha Rua Sá da Bandeira 676, Porto (in city centre)
Santiago is overrated imo, watery sauce and poor filling. Check out Golfinho for a super homely restaurant with a good francesinha.
Do you mean tripas? Because tripeiros is what we call people from Porto.
