BMM S03 E05 Orsova

We are celebrating 10 years of 10 more shots by going back to where it all began – Romania! This time in Orsova, a lovely town on the Danube shore, part of a natural park well known for its beautiful scenery. More info about accommodation and schedule coming soon, but get ready for a cruise on the Danube! ROUGH SCHEDULE Thursday: welcome drinks and check-in at Damiro guesthouse (after 2 PM) Pizza&beer night Friday: Danube cruise to the Decebal statue around 11:30 AM. The cruise will last about 3 hours and it costs 14 euros/person Discover Orsova - walk to the brutalist cathedral and the local park 10 more shots party! Saturday: Day trip to Baile Herculane by train 2-3 hours hike (low-medium level) and picnic around Baile Herculane, with breaks at some of the local springs and gazebos Train to Baile Herculare - 11:43AM, Train to Orsova - 6:00 PM. The train station is further from the city center, so we`ll have to catch a taxi or a bus to the trail Dinner in Orsova Sunday: Coffee&goodbyes at Damiro ACCOMMODATION Base point: Damiro guesthouse https://www.booking.com/hotel/ro/pensiunea-damiro.ro.html... Rooms for 2 or 3 people* 100 RON/ night/ person (~20 euros) Down payment for the first night by April 10th! Our base point will be at Damiro guesthouse, located on the river shore in the city center *For now we booked double and triple rooms, but if we`ll have a full house there is also a quadruple room and an en-suite for 6 people. If possible, we will try to accommodate the couples in the double rooms, so make sure to specify in the spreadsheet. The price is 100 RON/ night/ person (~20 euros), regardless of the type of room. We will have to make a down payment for the first night by April 10th. Breakfast is available upon request - 35 RON (~7 euros) for a standard menu, also a few a la carte options available (coffee, tea, omelette, fried eggs etc) If you are booking your own accommodation, please keep in mind that it might be tricky to get taxis, especially at night. From there you can catch a train or a bus or rent a car There is also an international airport in Belgrade, but there are no direct buses or trains Trains: Orsova is located on the main route connecting Bucharest and Timisoara Car: 2.5 hrs from Craiova, 4hrs from Timisoara, 5.5 hrs from Bucharest, 4 hrs from Belgrade, 5.5 hrs from Sofia + border crossing More details to follow!
