WE ARE NOT HOSTING ANY LONGER. PLEASE READ MY PROFILE IN FULL BEFORE CONTACTING ME WITH A REQUEST. :) NO MASS EMAILS TO ME, THANK YOU. WHEN HOSTING HOSTING ONLY 1 SURFER AT A TIME MAX 2 DAYS. I DO NOT ACCEPT FRIEND REQUEST WITHOUT A MESSAGE. My hubby and I love funny, tactful and trustworthy people - and all the great laughs and happy times we could have together. But we have room to host only one person at a time. We just turned CS back on after turning it off when Covid-19 started. Still working on updating my profile. I used to see myself as a social person but the Covid years have made me more introverted. But also I'm an openminded Finn who grew-up into a responsible adult in NYC's international crowds. I was born and raised in Finland and moved back to Helsinki in 2007 from all together 6-years mainly in NYC and a little bit also in Minneapolis and Greece. I would not go sightseeing with you all over the city but would love to spend time with you at our place chatting. I used to voluntarily organize salsa and other events to bring people together. I'd love to meet all of the CBS salsa dancers - NY mambo on2 is my favorite but have ended up dancing less and less. Instead I knit more and more. I work as the Executive Director of the local cycling advocacy group. Before that I worked on IT Cleantech startups in marketing. Ecological lifestyle in important for me. Now I also know that there are some delicate antique furniture in the house and they must be handled with extra caution. Something about me? Im ambivert, leaning occasionally more into introverted side. I like to be in peace, no hassle, going with the flow mostly. Hedonistic traveler and a explorer. Chronically ill, wich makes my traveling harder occasionally, but im happy to share a couch. I travel occasionally with my male friend.

I used to do modelling. But these days I identify myself at part-time photographer, artist. I try to learn as much as I can and see as much as I can. I believe that everything what we do, come back to us. Hmm...also I want to visit each country on Earth =) I love traveling and I’m still trying to explore new locations. PHILOSOPHY Philosopy is translated from latin as 'love to knowlidge' Do I need to add anyting else, hardly. Sharing and exchanging point of views and experiences with people is very important to me, so tell me about your personal philosophy!
I am a farm-grown 20th century daughter of the head of the village, who has through many corners of our beloved Earth found herself living back in Finland here in Laajasalo. Greatly connected to the the city by public transport and newly opened bridge for pedestians turn.g the journey into half an hour scenery walk. To the city. I think of everyone as my friend before I am given any reason to not to think so. This is to say I welcome you as you are, with no judgement. I have a strong respect for communal living, but also for personal space. I believe that play is essential for a healthy mind and body. Circus is one approach that I apply to not only stay in touch with my playfulness but also challenge it. I am a presence provocateur.
You can call me Sep. I have also had this obsession to keep the number of countries I have visited larger than the number of years I have lived. So far, I have been to 57 countries and I have lived in this world for 46 years. This goal in life makes no sense, of course. But I don't think it's particularly less valuable than other potential life meanings, such as having a child or getting rich. I am grateful for already having this option to travel. When I was travelling in South East Asia, there were many moments that I felt like a heavy arrogant rich middle-aged traveller. This made me feel bad. But there are some particulars you cannot change in life. For example, I cannot be in my 20s anymore. That option has long been off the table. I can still try to be less "heavy", which explains why I always lose weight when travelling, and eat only one meal per day. I have always tried to break out of the box. Sometimes I have succeeded, sometimes I have not. I am a Finnish Iranian citizen, currently living in Helsinki, Finland. WHY DO I TRAVEL? I mainly travel to see people, not monuments and museums. However, at the end of the journey, I may as well have seen them both! I don't like labeled tourist attractions. For example, in Paris, the Eiffel Tower is the last on my list of priorities. I love traveling, and adventures of all types. When I travel, my main objective is learning and experiencing local things, in a such a profound way that I can become autonomous like a genuine local. I am NOT interested in touristy hotspots. Instead, I prefer local cafes out of the city centers. I like trying local food and drinks, also learning about them by reading their pages on Wikipedia. I keep repeating their names and, if funding allows, repeating tasting them so many times that when I am gone back, I can remember names of meals, pastries, beers, etc for the rest of my life. I also tend to go to the outskirts of cities and, if at all available, even less fortunate districts. For example, if I am in Brazil, seeing a favela is a must. I know the risks, but I also know why I travel. HOW DO I TRAVEL? I do a bit of research before hitting the road. Until recently, I have also grabbed a Lonely Planet travel guidebook to look through in advance. After arriving in the city, I start exploring, usually by choosing a less advertised district, walking though its lanes, choosing different cafes, parks, pubs, etc, having a drink or two, and learning them. I need to learn the areas so I can enjoy my exploration. I make places those of my own by bookmarking them on my Google Maps, and writing a few words in a private note about them. Then, I look for locals on CS. My best of feelings are achieved when I have made a friend or two though CS before I am gone. WHO AM I? I am originally from Isfahan, Iran where I was born, brought up, and spent the first 23 years of my life. Then, I moved to Tehran, where I lived for about 10 years. I also lived, and worked as an English teacher in Turkey's Istanbul in 2010. In 2014, I moved to Finland as a student, and have been living in Oulu and Helsinki ever since except for one semester in 2016 when I lived in Edmonton Canada. I am now a Finn, too. I understand that many people would tend not to accept me as a Finn, due to where I was born, due to my limited Finnish language skills, and due to how I look. I wouldn't disagree with them. I don't consider myself a real Finn, either. The most important years in my upbringing occurred in Iran. As of 2024, I still have stronger roots in Iran than I do in Finland although I can hardly consider myself a true Iranian, either. I'm neither this nor that, or both this and that. Travelling itself has made me a global citizen. So, in addition to being a fake Finn and a fake Iranian, I am a fake citizen of the world as well. PHILOSOPHY: I live to experience and learn.
Ciao! I’m Alessandro and I’m 28. I’m from Verona, Italy but now I’m in Helsinki, where I’m living and working. I’m a nice guy always ready for new experiences and challenges. It’s really easy to socialize with me about everything. In my free time, I like listening to music and going out with friends. I also play rugby since I was 9, but now had to stop and I’m still involved in it by refereeing. When I have time I love traveling even if for only a couple of days.
While exploring life one of the roads took me to Prague, later another one led me to Australia, and now back to Finland.. for now! I have background in art studies, so I love visiting galleries and seeing weird performance stuff. I also like to play my ukulele. PHILOSOPHY I have a tattoo, made by my friend Maria, that says "the holy goof".
I am fairly busy with new job and motorbiking season is approaching in Finland. Whenever I find the time I try to login here to check for messages so please do not expect a quick response from me. For best results your request should be 1-3 days and not too far into the future. I do not plan my goings too far into the future and usually know my schedule for 1-2 weeks in advance. Also having some references and verifications in your profile is a plus. --- I’m a friendly, respectful, easygoing person and happy with little. Small things make life better and I look at life positively. When traveling I prefer to meet locals, learn, exchange information and also learn new things about myself 👍
Please read my profile carefully, including My home section, before sending me a request. CURRENT MISSION At some level every person is a mirror image of yourself... I try to be the way I wish others, my mirror images, to be and still be myself. ABOUT ME I'm back in Finland after five wonderful years in Delhi! Now based in Helsinki, the vibrant capital of Finland. Traveling a lot and always keeping the twinkle in the eye.... well, happily drifting on the waves of life! I can argue in a few languages but laugh in all! So... Welcome to my life all the friends I don't know yet!! Let's let the sunshine in! PHILOSOPHY EITHER FIND A WAY OR MAKE ONE. Whatever happens to you today, happens to prepare you for tomorrow.
