**As of 2026, I reside in Madison, Wisconsin in USA, doing my Masters in International Affairs, but checking information about Myanmar is welcome! To add some info here (as of 26/Jan/2026), it is possible to travel Myanmar as long as you stick with the main cities and tourist areas (Yangon, Bagan, Mandalay, Ngwe Saung, Kalaw, Taungyi). Regional cities/towns like Sagaing, Sittwe, Loikaw, etc., as well as countryside areas, are no longer advised to travel (States such as Rakhine, Kachin, Karen, Kayah, Chin etc.). Massive numbers of young people are leaving the country due to the conscription law by the Burmese military. Please respect the locals, and don't buy into the ideas of social influencers boasting how cheap and safe the country is. Everyone is struggling to survive under this crazy military regime and disastrous inflation, but to strive in these given conditions with resilience. UPDATE AFTER 2019: ============================ I am not hosting now, but I would be happy to meet up for a walk / drink / talk / etc.! ============================ Currently I work as a teacher in the city of Yangon, Myanmar (Burma). Originally from Russia (Moscow) and Israel (Tel-Aviv), also having background from Ukraine (Kiev). ============================ CURRENT MISSION: Enjoy Life and Create Happiness! :) ABOUT ME: Hi! My name is Vladi. I am a friendly and sociable guy with a multicultural background. I am really curious about people and other cultures. I think everybody is unique, so there's always something new to learn from any person! I like to travel a lot, and the best part of it - is getting to know people from all over the world!
Hello! I enjoy traveling, cultural exchange, and exploring new experiences in different places. I appreciate respectful communication, genuine friendships, and learning about local cultures and lifestyles through meaningful connections with people around the world. 🌍✨
CURRENT MISSION bringing electricity to people who live without it ABOUT ME I love... ...having a good conversation with people, exploring local gems, eating street food, learning languages, doing odd jobs, surprises and serendipitous moments, finding new music, being spontaneous, craft beer and good wine; coffee, cycling and writing my memoir PHILOSOPHY I have no philosophy, letting the life playing with me as I live quite randomly. All good things happen to me once I stop worrying about what I am doing
My Myanmar name is Ko Lin Thu. I am a USA citizen living and working in Yangon, Myanmar as an Education Consultant. I travel often throughout South and Southeast Asia, conduct trainings and workshops to encourage teachers and children's workers. I have a second apartment in Bangkok where I stay when I'm not in Myanmar or travelling. I love the couchsurfing community and the friendships that are made whether through hosting, being hosted, or meet ups. I love getting to know other people and knowing their stories, culture, and way of life. I love being single. I love Jesus Christ. Though I am a sinner, He has completely saved me. With my eternal state secure, I strive to honour Him in all I do. His word is my guide; I align my life to it and attempt to live like He did. Jesus hung out with people from every walk of life, demonstrating love to all people. That's how I want to live.
I'd like to meet people from other countries, try different national cuisines and discover new cultures. My apology for not being able to host anyone as i'm still living with my parents. :) IG : zawmyong
Ex-telecom management executive currently on a sabbatical to pursue entrepreneurship, life goals, and spontaneous travel. I love meeting new people, discovering vibrant local cultures, sharing good food, and enjoying great music. Always down to grab a beer or coffee and explore together—the rest, I’ll let you figure out on your own! Driven by curiosity. Still figuring things out, learning as I go, and enjoying the process.
I’m Sille, 27 years old and I've just finished my master in Political Science from University of Copenhagen. I love when the unexpected happen, so I’m so ready to meet for a beer/coffee/walk/climb/dance! I love hiking and being outside in the nature - especially if it involves autumn forests or mountains that I can climb. I love small projects and I just finished renovating my apartment.
For potential guests, please keep in mind that my room is super tiny. It’s literally a shoebox. I cannot host someone who snores, unfortunately. I have nothing against snoring, but imagine yourself going to work on Monday without a sound sleep. ——————————————- Mingalar bar! 🌍✨ I'm a PhD student with a thirst for adventure, always on the lookout for those budget-friendly flight/bus/train tickets to explore as many corners as possible of our beautiful blue planet. Growing up in Myanmar (Burma), I had no idea how vast the world truly was, thanks to our country's isolation under a harsh military dictatorship. But in 2010, our borders started to open to the international community, and I seized every opportunity to experience life beyond the horizon. Sadly, the military coup in February 2021 closed all our doors to a bright future again and brought unimaginable hardships for many of us. I'm just grateful for the "golden decade" I got to witness, and my heart aches for the youngsters back home who are now missing out a lot. Although holding one of the world's weakest passports can be a challenge, I'm filled with hope that through my studies, work, and the magic of serendipity, I'll continue to uncover the wonders of our world beyond my tiny room. Here's to making new friends, one couch at a time! ✌️ Cheers! 🎉✨ In case you do not get a response, Instagram: @havok_crimson
