About me Hi! I’m Anna (@anka.bog inst), originally from Izhevsk, Russia, but I’ve always felt that my hometown was a little too small for me. When I turned 18, I moved to Moscow hoping to build a new life. It didn’t quite work out the way I imagined — I struggled with loneliness and with the cost of living in such an expensive city. But one thing became very clear to me: I wanted to see the world. Since I didn’t have much money at the time, my first international trip happened in a rather unusual way. I went to Turkey on a work contract as a sports animator at a hotel. I ended up staying in Turkey several times and spent around 1.5 years there in total. The best part was meeting people from all over the world. Those friendships completely changed the way I saw travelling. When I was 21, I travelled to the Netherlands for a month and stayed with girls I had met through the hotel where I worked. I also took a one-day trip to Belgium, where another friend from the hotel welcomed me into his home. That experience taught me something I still believe today: there are so many kind, generous and open-minded people in the world, and sometimes a friendship is the best way to discover a country. Now I’ve been living outside Russia for more than a year. I moved to Vietnam with my boyfriend and our dachshund, whom I found outside in the cold back in Russia. 🐶 I work in video production and motion design, and I absolutely love photography and creating visual content. I always travel with my professional camera, so if you need some nice photos or videos, I’d be happy to help! :) My travels I’ve travelled quite a bit around Asia over the last few years. I’ve visited Malaysia, China (Shanghai), and Japan — and Japan has become a particularly special place for me. I’ve already been to Japan three times and explored quite a lot of the country, including Tokyo, Osaka, Nagasaki, Hiroshima, Miyajima, Beppu, Kurume, Toyama, Kanazawa, Takayama and Izu, as well as the Mount Fuji area. Every trip makes me want to see more rather than feel like I’ve “finished” a country. This spring I’m also planning a trip to South Korea with my mom, which I’m very excited about! Why I’m on Couchsurfing For me, Couchsurfing has never really been about getting free accommodation. Some of my best travel experiences happened because someone I barely knew decided to open their home to me, show me their city, or simply spend an evening talking and sharing stories. I’d love to experience that kind of connection again — and hopefully give the same feeling to someone else one day. At the moment, my boyfriend and I are planning another trip to Japan. I wanted to make it a special birthday gift for him, and one of our biggest dreams is to see RADWIMPS live. On September 5th we’ll find out for sure whether we get concert tickets, and after that we’ll finalize our itinerary. We’ll be travelling during the autumn foliage season, which is a beautiful but also quite expensive time to visit Japan. So we’d be incredibly happy to stay with someone who would enjoy meeting us, sharing stories, exploring the city together, having a meal or a drink, or simply spending some time together. We’re also happy to help around the house or contribute in other ways. And if you’d like photos or video content, I’d be very happy to use my camera and skills to create something for you. 📷 Most importantly, we’d love to meet kind, open-minded people and make a genuine connection. Maybe you’ll show us your favourite local place, and someday we’ll have the chance to return the favour. :)

I recently started traveling again, so I cannot host at the moment. I'm the kind of person who would write random stuff in this "About Me" box to get my profile up to 100% complete. Ps. I typically don't host people for just one night. It is too much hassle to clean and prepare the bedroom for just one night. I would recommend staying anything from 2 to 4 nights, depending on your schedule.
