Hi I’m Tim, currently 24 and an Environmental Scientist from Australia. Recently done a huge trip to a few amazing countries around the world and was lucky enough to meet so many beautiful and different people and cultures.
We are hosting at certain times :) Please read our whole profile if you are considering asking to stay with us. Here’s to good times! Hey guys, Id love a good chat and to form a new friendship regardless of whether or not we are meeting up or lending couches! Feel free to add me as a friend. If you are applying to stay don’t feel the need to write a giant essay; but please communicate in a way that lets me know you read about us first. Im Jake, here are a few points about me: 1. My wife and I are open minded people. We love meeting folks from every background and learning about what drives them. 2. Her name is Chloe-ann. We do pretty much everything together with our little dog 🐶 milo. 3. We are ex van-lifers - we converted a massive mercedes sprinter van into a camper and we lived in it full time off grid for 2 years. Now we live in a beautiful apartment on the water in Biggera Waters (the Gold Coast QLD). 4. We appreciate the concept of minimalism; we have learned that possessions can be a burden; we are always trying our best to simplify our lives and reduce clutter so we can focus on the important things like goals and relationships. 5. My wife and I are both singers and we also play guitar. I write songs. We love music. 6. I can fix computers and phones. I had a great shop which I’ve now sold but still do repairs here and there. Let me know if you need something fixed and I will help you out if I have the time. 7. We are always on the lookout for hiking/adventure/camping/beach/paddleboarding buddies. We love doing outdoor stuff! 8. We sometimes like to host board game nights and group adventures with friends. 9. Chloe has a lash and brow salon near surfers paradise which has grown quite popular. She also sells lash and brow products in her second office. 10. I recently received my real estate license; also learning hypnotherapy, and doing sales work as a contractor for a prospecting company as well as disability support work. Yeah, I’m a bit scattered. 11. I naturally often find my way to deep conversations about life and spirituality, since I’ve always been intrigued about the nature of this life and reality. Chloe and I shared a dramatic transition from deeply religious to open minded spirituality. We are open to everything and don’t dismiss anything. Love seeing the perspectives of others. 12. We love the gym and are Snap Fitness members. Happy to take you with us if you’re a member too. Not sure about their guest policy. 13. We are vegetarian and on a pretty strict diet. High quality (mostly organic where possible) food is important to us. We enjoy cooking for others and would love for our surfers to cook for us, if you have some great vego recipes, especially something unique or from your culture. When guests stay with us, we ask that they be out of the house when we are, unless we expressly indicate otherwise. Most couchsurfers are awesome people and we usually build trust with them quickly, but assume this rule applies anyway, just to avoid awkwardness and make sure nothing is taken personally. We accept guests of either sex, which I’m finding more and more rare here. In too many areas I see fake hosts accepting guests based on their sexual preferences, which is deeply off putting. If that is you, please dont ask to stay with us. If you dont have many reviews on CS please send a link to a social media profile so we can at least get a feel for you as a person. If you are a host, and especially if you are willing to host us back please message us. We would be pleased to support you in your journey and meet you in your home country sometime as well. Please only apply for a maximum of 2-3 nights up front unless you are an extensive host yourself and are happy to reciprocate, or you discuss it with us first. We will likely ask you to buy/contribute something to the home, whether that is a meal or maybe something from Kmart, Bunnings, etc. While we are always happy to open our home to couchsurfers for a couple/few days, if you are wanting to extend to a longer stay with us (like 1 week plus), we’d discuss a reasonable contribution. If you request to stay more than a month in advance I probably won’t be able to give you a solid answer straight away. Feel free to send a request anyway. +61478741129 (Jake) Jake has Kakaotalk as well And wechat @Jakematrix
Hi, my name is Rodney. I was born in Darwin in the Northern Territory and moved to Brisbane in 2005. I enjoy hiking, yoga, rock climbing, going to the beach and surfing. I lived in Brisbane for a while and in June 2023 I moved to the Gold Coast. If you have a place to stay already I am happy to show you around or meet for a drink or meal. I work as an accountant and generally have time in the evenings or on the weekends. I enjoy learning languages and have learnt a bit of French and German so it would be nice to be able to practice with someone. I can show you some markets, National Parks, beaches, or places of interest around the Gold Coast which I am yet to fully explore. If you are interested in surfing or learning how to surf I have a spare board and you are also welcome to come and join me.
Hi! I'm Fernanda, originally from Brazil. 🇧🇷 In 2018, I left Brazil to begin what I thought would be a sabbatical year. Instead, it became a journey of self-discovery that completely changed my life. Through Couchsurfing, I've had the privilege of visiting 25 countries (and counting), meeting incredible people from different cultures, sharing meals, stories, and unforgettable experiences. The pandemic paused my travels, but it never stopped my curiosity about the world and the people in it. One of the greatest gifts of this journey was discovering a book that profoundly changed my perspective on life. It inspired me to translate the author's latest work into Portuguese so more people in Brazil could access its message. I believe that when we understand ourselves better, we naturally create a better world around us. Travel has taught me that every person carries a unique story. I love deep conversations about life, culture, psychology, spirituality, personal growth, philosophy, and the different ways people see the world. At the same time, I'm just as happy sharing a coffee, cooking together, exploring a city, hiking, or watching a sunset. I believe we are all connected, and every encounter is an opportunity to learn something new. If we meet, I hope we can exchange ideas, laugh, inspire each other, and create memories that last far beyond the trip. "The world changes with every step you take." Looking forward to meeting you somewhere in the world. 🌍 🌱 Live with curiosity. 💙 Be kind. ✨ Keep exploring.

Hello :) I’m based in Gold Coast, pursuing a PhD in environmental economics. I used to be an avid CS user before COVID, the past five years I have stopped but now I am excited to get back to the community, explore Australia with like minded people :) I am passionate about surfing and running.
Hi, Its nice to meet you! I’m Jessie, a free spirited Australian girl who loves to travel to see the world, meet interesting people and go on adventures. I've been travelling full time for nearly 2 years now and it just keeps on getting better and better. I’m currently in Europe for the next few months but then have little planned after that, my plans are open, I will see where the wind takes me. I hope to meet positive thinking like-minded people along my journey who I can share this once In a lifetime experience with. ABOUT ME I grew up on the sunny city called the Gold Coast, which falls on the boarder of Queensland and New South Wales. When I'm not exploring new countries, I am working as a tour guide along the east coast of Queensland showing backpackers the best parts of my beautiful state. If you're traveling to Aus and plan to go up or down the east coast of Aus, I would be happy to answer any questions you may have on things to do, places to go etc. I've had so many great meet ups and experiences with Couchsurfing in the past. This community is really incredible and I am looking forward to meeting more people from around the world. HOBBIES I love the ocean and the mountains, basically anything outdoors in nature. In my spare time I enjoy sailing, hiking, exploring, surfing(only a beginner but still love it) , camping, scuba diving, free diving, bike riding and attending live music shows. Activities like bungee jumping, river rafting, canyoning and the like are also an interest of mine. I love outdoor activities and hope to do these in the places I am visiting. I've recently started a travel blog and have been enjoying working on that in my spare time as well. WHERE I LIVE My house is in the suburb Ashmore which is only a 15 minute driving from Surfers Paradise in a car or approx 40 minutes on the bus. The Nerang train station is just 10 minutes drive away, if you need I can probably drop you there . I can show you some of our beautiful beaches, one of our national parks or even or take a trip to Byron bay if your interested and we have enough time.
Update - now in Hanoi Vietnam from 04 July 2026 - then to who knows where - will spend a bit of time in Vietnam catching up with friends - then maybe UK and Europe...
ABOUT ME I would prefer to have a good chat to get to know someone over writing about myself. I am a person of contrasts...I want a house in the middle of Sydney and one in the rainforest, I love facials and massages and pampering myself as much as I love heading out to the bush/beach and going camping, I love spending quality time by myself, but love hanging out/partying with my friends! I like this idea of writing stuff without actually saying anything ;)If you want to know more just ask me questions in your email :) PHILOSOPHY Still working on this one...Continually working on this one I think!!
I've just purchased a gorgeous resort style acreage on the Gold Coast formally from Byron Bay and the Whitsundays. Much of the following info needs updating I will get to that soon. Send me a message and let's make friends I've got the place all to myself so company is welcome. Always love meeting new open minded and interesting people and being social! Happy to help out when I can :) ABOUT ME Always love meeting new open minded and interesting people and being social! Happy to help out when I can :) PHILOSOPHY Y O L O
Friendly Aussie solo backpacking through Europe for the first time, looking to meet friends and get the local experience of this beautiful continent. During my travels you'll find me tasting the local delicacies, going out for a drink and a boogie, or checking out the local cinema. Very social person so once I found out about this site I jumped right on, because as fun as it is solo travelling, a person always needs friends!
I love life, I love meeting new people and making new friends. I enjoy the outdoors, traveling, music, socializing and making people happy!
I’m passionate traveler, exploring Australia now with my boyfriend, and used to travel solo around Europe and United States. I’m a citizen of the world and I was born the south of Brazil, where we do have cold winter, and my home town has a big German influence. I’ve been way more into the Couchsurfing community when living in Europe, attending to events (which I didn’t even know before because I didn’t use the app a lot and didn’t know much about it), and I had been hosted by amazing people throughout my trips, all my summer 2023/24 trips I made with couchsurfers! I’ll never forget the moments and memories we had together, like the local event with real Italian food in a suburb of Florence, scootering around Rome at 3AM with my host having a private tour of the city, being motivated to learn a bit of piano, getting to know the roommates of my host, been taken to an amazing sunset concert jam by a cliff at the beach in Malta (that one was unforgettable), having a paella valenciana made at home, a foam party and barbecue in Ibiza, having deep conversations, meeting people I’m still in contact with, and the list goes on… This time in Europe also made me learn how to travel only with a backpack (for a month), which I thought it was impossible for me before, and after, I love it, so much more optimized! My passion is to get to know new places, cultures and people. My time off is always busy, going out with friends, traveling, trying a new restaurant, going to the beach, traveling, attending to an event, traveling, doing something for the first time, traveling, taking dance classes, yoga, gym… I also love world maps! I can be staring at them for a while! I’m trying to have a healthy life style, working out every day and eating healthier. Drink water!!! :)
