CURRENT MISSION Exploring my new home city — Canberra! It's got great nature, some surprisingly good music, and all the national galleries and museums. ABOUT ME I'm a pretty relaxed and easy going Australian. Glad to help and like to have fun/just hang out and chat. People usually find me pretty easy to get along with and I almost always find others easy to get along with too. I really like to learn things. I wish I could spend my whole life learning languages and instruments and board games and sports and ways of thinking. Yup! I’m here in Canberra with my wonderful partner. She speaks Mandarin and also her hometown language, and is learning English. She loves nature, food and cooking, dancing, making things by hand and has done some challenging outdoor things like multi-day hikes, a half marathon, and a week-long bike ride. PHILOSOPHY Keen to learn about things, all sorts of things. I like enjoying things for what they are.
CURRENT MISSION Chilling in Canberra ABOUT ME I'm just an Aussie gal from wee Canberra, the capital of Australia. I would describe myself as a person with a can-do attitude who enjoys doing just about anything fun and interesting - my closest friends would descibe me as crazy, but with the kindest regard, I'm sure! And when I say fun and interesting I mean just about anything. I enjoy sewing, designing, embroidering, painting, writing and cooking and all that jazz but at the same time I feel just as content doing things such as dancing all night, reading all day, cycling, motorbiking, hiking, traversing cliffs at the beach or building forts in the park. I was born in Australia and have lived there most of my life but have travelled quite a lot. My father's parents are Hungarian and my mother's parents are Dutch so I've got a bit of a European connection. When asked what I wanted to be when I grew up my reply would always be "I want to be a professional bum." I think I have been somewhat successful in my pursuit of this career. I studied humanities. Very interesting but not a pre-determined vocation per se. But that doesn't matter, enjoy life. Learn. Do what you're interested in, and what needs doing, and your calling will find you. PHILOSOPHY Kindness. Appreciate the now and make the most of whatever is thrown your way, be it good or bad. Truly and thoroughly engage with and enjoy where you are and what you're doing in the present. Some are more lucky than others, this is true, but in the end we all make our own luck. Be open to everything and everything will be open to you.

CURRENT MISSION Continue to love life. Have fun. Be happy. Raise happy kids. Make people happy, if possible. ABOUT ME We, Gaëlle and Raphaël, and our kids Basile, Violette, Samuel and Fleur have arrived in Canberra in 2024, after a year in Bujumbura, Burundi, Africa and an other one in Sofia, Bulgaria. Enjoyed a nice trip around Europe and Asia a few years ago - that is before the kids. As for our free time, we enjoy playing any kind of sport. We also love to spend time having good time with friends. PHILOSOPHY Do not worry, be happy... and don't complain. And be planet-friendly.
Hi, I’m Chips (they/them)! I'm super new to CS so any/all feedback on this bio is welcome! I'm a Canberra-based educator and theatre practitioner with a massive passion for storytelling, community, and inclusive arts. A huge part of my life revolves around improvisation: I've been heavily involved in the improv scene for over a decade, from co-founding clubs to performing regularly. Because of that background, I love meeting new people, I'm quick to laugh, and I genuinely enjoy spontaneous, brilliant conversations. I love how Couchsurfing connects people from entirely different walks of life. I'm highly social and always up for a proper chat over a cup of tea, exchanging stories, or heading out to experience local gigs and live theatre together. Why I’m on Couchsurfing For me, travel is all about the people you meet and the local culture you experience. I love connecting with open-minded people, learning how different communities live, and sharing a bit of my own creative world and lens in return. My travel style & couchside manners While I am an outgoing and social person who loves to hang out, I am equally big on respect, communication, and boundaries. The social/space Balance: I am always down to cook together, chat for hours, or join you for a night out. That said, I am incredibly mindful of your personal sanctuary. If you need quiet time, space, or just want to wind down after work, I completely respect that and am very happy doing my own thing. Respectful & clean: I keep my space tidy, respect house rules, and value your downtime. Dietary note: I eat dairy-free, so I’m well-practised at whipping up my own separate meals or adapting recipes if we decide to share a dinner!

In 2013 I embarked on a Couchsurfing adventure through the US archives system on a research road trip for a book of intrigue on international monetary policy relating to gold and silver. I made some solid discoveries and met incredible people. ABOUT ME I'm an independent and very considerate couch surfer. A non-drinker/smoker but I still know how to enjoy social occasions. PHILOSOPHY Pack your lunch without knowing where you will eat it
CURRENT MISSION I have been working two jobs, public relations coordinator and salesperson, this was a busy period for me. I am now taking a break to travel. ABOUT ME I love to see the world, and to learn more about it, and its people, too. I enjoy getting to know about the history and culture of places, and meeting up with people and seeing how life is for various people in different places. I still enjoy seeing a few tourist attractions, but I don't mind if I don't see them all. I also spend time visiting banks and money exchanges to see if I can get a few crisp banknotes or new coins for my collection when travelling. They are less heavy than other souvenirs (although coins can be heavy). I'm French and Australian. I had been living in Australia, where I worked as a sales assistant selling technology, living at home with my parents and sisters. In 2016, I resigned from my job to give time to other projects, mostly studying languages in Thailand. In 2018 Until 2022, I decided to start undergraduate studies in the University of Western Australia and then a master's at the Australian National University as well as working for the same sales company as before. I also enjoy the diplomatic world that I have some access to due to livong in a capital city. My travel style: I mostly enjoy meeting people and spending time with them, or roaming around solo exploring new places. Food: I am vegetarian. I am quite comfortable around people who are not vegetarian and eating non-veg while with me, as long as they don't mind that I am vegetarian. I do enjoy food when travelling. Please ask me if there's something else that you'd like to know! PHILOSOPHY I believe in learning about the world and its people. I think that the key to life is happiness and health mixed with adequate kindness and success.
I‘m yuki, a 23 years old student from China, currently studying in Australia. I start do couchsurfing since 2023, during my undergraduate in guangzhou, China. I host a lot of people through couchsurfing and I met a lot of kind, friendly and welcoming freinds!! However, after couchsurfing updated, I couldn't find my account :((( so I just register this new account. I studied musicology for 4 years in China and now, I am studying anthropology in Australia. I just arrived to Australia in July 2026, which means this is totally a new journey for me!! I have a lot of hobies: playing piano, guitar, ukelele and I started learning surfing when I was traveling in Vietnam. I also like hiking and I finished 100kn hiking route Camino de santiago in Spain. What's more I also do postcrossing and collect postcards apund the world:))))
Canberra, the beautiful capital of Australia, has been my home for over a decade. It has so much to offer, and one of the best ways to experience it is by walking or cycling around Lake Griffin. There so many architectural landmark to visit for free such as: - The Australian War Memorial - National Art Gallery - National Museum - Parliament House and The Museum of Australian Democracy (old parliament house) Just behind the War Memorial rises Mount Ainslie. You can drive up there, but a 40-minute hike rewards you with an astonishing panoramic view of the Bush Capital, it is my favorite place to watch sunset. Anzac Parade links the War Memorial to the lake, and you can walk and view cool statues on both sides of the street. About me: By day, I work in an academic library and beyond the shelves, I’m drawn to dance and culture. . I’m a storyteller, dancer and a daydreamer, and I believe every human is a book, carrying fascinating, untold stories that need a safe space to be shared. My Guiding Lights: “The wound is the place where the Light enters you.” — Rumi “You’re not a drop in the ocean; you’re an ocean in a drop.” — Rumi “Travel far enough, and you meet yourself.” — David Mitchell “Traveling – it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller.” — Ibn Battuta “Where there is hospitality, there is humanity.” — Alain de Botton “The simple act of opening your home opens the heart.” — Pico Iyer
