+2024 Update+ A few recent changes mean that I'm hosting less than I used to. Please read my profile before making requests. I will try to prioritise previous guests and touring musicians, or other performers. Couchsurfing is a community - not just a free place to crash, not a dating site and not a forum for taking advantage. We should be here to exchange ideas and to make a positive contribution to the community, if that's not you, maybe I'm not your host. CURRENT MISSION To laugh until people stare. ABOUT ME I work in education all over the country and live quietly in the leafy suburbs of Bristol. When I'm not working, I play. Sports, guitar, reading, writing... you name it. I'd describe myself as a man of broad and eclectic interests. I love an evening of deep conversation, I love to learn. Currently proud to be singer with The Layers - check us out at www.thelayers.me.uk - we had a great time on the CS Gigswap tour and we'd love to come and play near you - got a venue? Drop me a line. PHILOSOPHY I'm most aligned with Marx. That's Groucho, not Karl. 'Outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend. Inside a dog it's too dark to read.' Other aphorisms that sum up my approach to life would be 'Life's too short for cheap wine' and 'F*ck em if they can't take a joke'. I live because the alternative isn't that appealing. I do my best to live right for myself and the people that I love. I'm in favour of education, informed debate and against billionaires. Pro-legalisation but against drugs. Go figure.
I’m a sociable and open Cornishman living in Bristol with my two housemates and my beautiful cat, Benny. For me, travel is as much about the people you meet as the places you go, if not more. It has always been the connections I’ve made with others which have stayed with me. I appreciate authenticity and a willingness to go deeper in conversation. Couchsurfing has given me the opportunity to connect with many amazing people from around the globe and I’m hugely grateful for that. I believe that life becomes richer the more connections, stories and memories I can share. We are one species and we enrich our lives by learning more about each other.
Hi, I'm Jason, and I'm currently living and hosting in Bristol when I'm not travelling. I don't like to plan too far ahead, so it's best to send me a couch request just a few days before you plan to arrive and for 2 nights max. Some quotes that I like: "Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it." Ferris Bueller, 1986. "Because in the end, you won't remember the time you spent working in the office or mowing your lawn. Climb that goddamn mountain." Jack Kerouac "Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life." Confucius - FYI I'm still looking! "There's a crack, a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in" - Leonard Cohen "Empty vessels make the most noise" - Plato
Now that I have had some experience of couchsurfing, both hosting, and being hosted, I have realised what a great way it is to meet new people while visiting new countries and getting to know local people and understand their cultures I travel quite a lot at the moment as I’ve given up my work to enable me to do this. I am sociable, easy-going, friendly, and genuine. I am a naturist and when possible enjoy meeting other people that have the same interest. My main aim is to get to know new and interesting, nice people while traveling. Please do not request to just use me for accommodation, as I am not a hotel. As I stated my aim is to get to know new people and maybe to showing them around and having a drink or dinner in my city.

Hey there, 2025 - backpacking around Asia. In Thailand at the moment. I am a half Brazilian / half Italian living in Bristol since 2020. After I finished my studies in Brazil, I decided to move abroad. You probably heard that Brazil is a vast country with lots of immigration over the years, we are a very mixed culture country, and because of that, my first stop was in Italy where I had the chance to do research about my family and also get my Italian documents. Unfortunately, Covid also happened at that same time and I had to stay there until things were a bit better around the world. After 6 months, I then moved to England. I've been in Bristol for 3 years and a half now, and this city has taught me so much! I met a lot of nice people, making me even more curious about life. Job-related I work in two areas, I'm part of the NHS, the healthcare public system, working as an Admin in a hospital, my other job is being a dancer for @shadecartel (follow us! ;), we are a group of dancers performing in festivals and events around the UK, it's been a pleasure to discover that I can find my creative side doing this. 2023 has been an intense year. I divided myself between these two jobs, plus classes in administration for a course I am doing. After planning for over a year, I bought a special backpack, and for the second time, I am jumping on a long trip, gonna backpack around Latin America for 5 months. I have just spent a month with my family and friends in Brazil, and now to start this new year I am starting my trip in Chile, going all the way up to Mexico, and then seeing my brother in the USA. Anyway, said that I am looking for accommodations + friends around all these Latin American countries, so I can share and create more memories. Instagram: mbinotti
Hey, my name is Hannah and I come from a city called Bristol in England, UK 🇬🇧 I would describe myself as an extrovert; I love good conversation and human connection! 🌎 Travelling is my passion and I plan to travel the world! 🌎 So far on my adventures I have visited Germany, Austria, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Czech Republic and Cyprus! 🇩🇪 🇦🇹 🇵🇱 🇭🇺 🇷🇴 🇨🇿 🇨🇾 I mostly do work aways as not only is it a cheaper alternative but I love to immerse myself in the culture of a country, meet new people from around the world and have experiences that wouldn’t be possible through typical tourism. I’ve learned so much about myself through travelling and had some crazy adventures. One of the highlights was training 11 camels at Austria’s one and only camel farm. I got to ride them, along with horses, through the beautiful Austrian forest which was an experience I will never forget! 🌲 🐫 🐪 🐫 🐫 🐪 🐫 🐫 🐪 🐫 🐫 🐪 🌲 Working as a counsellor in Romania at Happy Faces Kids Camp was an experience that changed my life forever! Not only did I meet life long friends there who opened my eyes to a community and way of life I’d been searching for; it represents a place where I found my purpose in life, working with children. As a result, I am now working towards acquiring my TEFL Qualification (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) so I can travel the world and make a difference to the lives of many not only through education but also by creating a stable learning environment whereby kindness and joy is at the foundation. I love to try new food, dance, sing, cook with others, go hiking, to have deep conversations, share openly with others, share music with each other, learn new things…basically I say yes to anything because life is an adventure and you never know what something could lead to until you try! 💖❤️💚💜💙
CURRENT MISSION Should I stay or should I go? ABOUT ME As a pioneer, I feel it would be a pity not to stay in contact with all the amasing Couchsurfers I had the luck to meet, to host, to travel with... PHILOSOPHY FORTUNA AUDACES IUVAT
I live in Bristol and use a wheelchair due to a neurological condition called Friedreich’s Ataxia, which is progressive over time. I keep my home clean, tidy, and well-organised — it makes life calmer and easier, and I enjoy welcoming people into that environment. Travel has always been a big part of my life, and I love culture, meeting new people, and experiencing the world. For now, since I don’t travel as much myself, hosting through Couchsurfing feels like way to stay connected to that spirit of exchange. My focus these days is on health and balance — good food, rest, and routines that keep me steady. When I host, I value guests who are relaxed, considerate, and independent, while also enjoying conversation and shared moments. I’m curious about the world and enjoy deep, intelligent discussions — philosophy, economics, culture, and systems of society. I’d be glad to share stories, go for a short walk, or explore some of Bristol together.
I am nurse by profession. I love to travel and eat. I am a fun Game of Thrones. I play Volleyball, Badminton, chess, and swimming. I love organizing activities for the benefit of the less fortunate members of the society. I have organized several charitable activities such as Christmas Gift-giving program, Leadership trainings, School supply drive, Fun Run and Feeding programs. Competitive.Leader.Listener.
I'm an architect and furniture designer/maker from Bristol, UK. I enjoy making things, understanding how they work, and exploring the relationship between design, people and place. I love wandering cities on foot, discovering interesting architecture, finding independent cafés and having conversations that leave me thinking long afterwards. I'm naturally curious and enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds. I don't travel to tick countries off a list. I travel because I enjoy experiencing places through the people who live there.
From Singapore, based in Bristol working in the refugee sector. I always believe that humans are walking libraries, and enjoy hearing about their life stories and anything under the sun. Always curious, always passionate, learning and unlearning. My friends call me a jack-of-all-trades as I often can't stick to one thing. This also means I have tried a multitude of jobs and have loads of stories to share. Sometimes I travel by myself, but other times with my boyfriend! This is his CS profile — https://www.couchsurfing.com/users/2018574067?utm_campaign=profile_share&utm_source=couchsurfing-ios. I can’t host at the moment due to my living arrangements, but I’m always up for a coffee, or a few hours to show you around town :)
I live in a flat/apartment near Staple Hill in Bristol, it is about a 30-40 minute bus ride into Bristol, or a 25 minute cycle, down a lovely old railway, cycle path. (Or you can cycle the other way about 10 miles to Bath) I am very relaxed and easy going and like to make new friends... my belief is that strangers are just friends you have not yet met. I love to learn about new things. For work, I find interesting speakers to talk at conferences and events - I most like sustainability, the future, tech, growth, and education though I love to research all topics - I connect people to do fabulous things. I also do a bit of coding and have recorded a few audio books. I am now authoring and narrating a series of sleep enhancing subconscious mind schooling books. I also help teach about financial independence to give people freedom and choice in their life. https://rebeldonegans.com/finance/rfs/course-notes/ (new free course starting May/June, 2026) I have 3 children who do not live with me - 29, 27 and 12 I like to read, learn, self-development, and listening to audio books and podcasts. I very much like board games and films of many genres, though not really into horror. Music? If I like it, I like it... no fixed genre.
