Hello everyone, I work as a Data Engineer at Vinted, beforehand I studied computer science at the TU Delft. These days I play a lot of badminton :) I love spending time in nature, hiking, canoeing are some of my favourite activities. I have a deep interest in history, space (exploration), sociology and the different cultures around the globe. I have done many hitchhiking trips, which is a thrilling experience, meeting many people you would otherwise never meet and exchanging experiences. This has enriched my life, just like meeting people from CS. Deep conversations, exchanging travel stories, learning about others’ cultures and customs is why I like meeting people here :)
I love traveling very much as much as meeting people. It's just nicer and valuable to meet people or to be guest in people's house than to be lonely during trips. I love to learn many different things from people, their hobbies, culture, experiences in life etc. I love receiving people. But i am very busy. Sometimes I don't have time to entertain people. About receiving guests, sometimes you need to request in advance - so I prefer no last minutes - for a stay. I would like to welcome people nicely and be prepared. I love cooking for my guests, but I am not vegetarian.
Couchsurfing became unusable after updating the app. Unfortunately I don't often check the app, so probably will not see if anyone send me a request (is it even possible now to send it?). I'm going to another platform with similar but shorter name (idk if it's legal to mention the name of a new app here, so I don't) ------- PLEASE READ BEFORE REQUESTING A STAY! If you request a stay too far in advance (a month or more), most probably I'll reject it and ask you to text me later just because usually I can't predict if I decide to go on a vacation or invite my friends to come to my place or be busy in any other way in a month or so. Life is unpredictable. Best time to make a request is a week before your arrival. Anyway, I try to answer to everyone even if the answer is No. Also I can accept same day requests if you really need it and I am available. One thing I want to ask you is to let me know something about yourself and about your trip. If you don't have any references it's okay, just give me some information so I could accept your request easier. If you travel with someone else, please share some info about your fellow travelers as well. If they have a CS profile, you can send me a link, or maybe they have public profiles in other social networks (fb, ig, whatever). Don't get me wrong, it's just always some kind of a stress to host a complete stranger (although I've only had positive experiences here so far). Thanks for reading this. Have a good time! ---- Born and raised in Russia, Tomsk. Moved to Amsterdam in 2023 and one year later moved to the Hague. Living my life, trying to figure out things about different countries, cultures, people. I'm not pretty good at describing myself. General info about me is in my profile. You can always send me a message if you want to know me better.
"Hello fellow travelers and adventurers! As a host, I'm welcoming, relaxed, social, friendly and outgoing, and love sharing my town with you. I’m Jelle, 37 years old and based in the Netherlands. I’m someone who loves to explore—whether it’s a new city, a mountain trail, or an unfamiliar dish. I enjoy meeting new people, sharing stories, and discovering what makes a place truly local. In daily life, I spend a lot of time with friends and family, and my girlfriend. I also like going to concerts, playing or watching sports, and enjoying good conversations over coffee or a cold beer. Music is a big part of my life, and I’m always up for a spontaneous plan or something a bit adventurous. Couchsurfing to me is about connection, openness, and seeing the world through someone else’s eyes. Whether I’m hosting or surfing, I enjoy making genuine connections and learning something new from everyone I meet. Looking forward to crossing paths and sharing good moments—somewhere, someday! --- It would be nice if you could stay one night, but more nights are even better! With that we can make it a better experience with cooking dinner, seeing the nice part my town and the area has to offer and dive in the North Sea 🌊 If you stay at my place it would be nice if you give me three missions to do when I visit your country. ✌️, Jelle

Hi, I'm Ben, an early career research scientist currently working for the European Space Agency in The Netherlands. I like music, travelling, and getting to know new people : ) Some of my hobbies include playing the trombone, looking after my collection of house plants, and going to museums. I also like hiking and getting out and about in nature. Originally from the UK: lived in London, Cardiff, and Cambridge before moving to the Netherlands Happy to be joining the couchsurfing community!
I love to travel, I love my social live and hanging out with people. I used to go on holiday 6-8 weeks a year until I started working then it became a little less😁. I have been working as an engineer for a few years which taught me I am not a nine to five person. I need some kind of freedom and serendipity. So I decided to quit my job and drive to Turkey and Iran.
Currently in Switzerland, heading to Norway on 24/8/25. Heyhey!! Welcome to my page, you will have the greatest time of your life ;P So! I born and grew in the Netherlands, but always had the deep inner feeling to explore the world. There is soo much to see, to taste, to experience! So here I am, working remotely and travelling around the world. Visiting friends, solo trips, sporty holidays. Sun, cold, I take it all! Couchsurfing is just incredible.. The mindset we have is so special! and this platform brings us together <3 I have a lot and also very little to offer: - Sounds cliche, but good converstations! I can talk about everything. - I like to do activities, from sporty ones, to just having a nice walk outside. Having drinks, playing boardgames, exploring new things. - I am sure you will feel comfortable with me, i’m super understanding and relaxed! Slightly funny, when being more comfortable i’m a lot more funny. - I give you all the space in the world. - Telling you more about my parents country in south-America, no one knows that it exist. - A friend that is able to meet again! Things I did: surfing in 5 countries, skydiving in the Netherlands, not having an own apartment for 5 years (since covid), wake-surfing in Basel, Skiing in Austria, acting classes in the Netherland, falling in love with Switzerland (Basel specifically), experiencing a non-commercialised island in Maldives, interesting roundtrip in Israël, having plenty of injury because i’m overdoing sports, lovelovelove dancing @home,clubs,festivals, best moments of my life was during covid, indoor & rockclimbing in Austria, painting in Morocco, meeting my best friends around the world andddd many moreee So for the people who made it out here, some more info about me. My wild life is over haha! I like to be on time in bed, read and start the day early, with running or workouts. But it doesn’t mean I don’t do fun stuff late, I still enjoy that a lot! I work during the day usually in a cozy coffee bar. The rest of the time I spend on friends, activities. Or if I feel like me-time I stay at home and relax or do something by myself outside. Taking care of my health is something important for me, but it doesn’t work out all the time! :P I like cycling, running, nature water swimming, climbing, eating healthy and vegetarian, surfing. For the couchsurfers that I ask to stay with: I’m very respectful towards others and their homes. I give you all the space you need! I would love to help you with anything and would be cool to do some activities, but if it doesn’t fit your schedule, all good as well!
A guy from the flatlands (The Netherlands). Living in a big city, The Hague. Working as a nurse at the cardiac department at a top-clinical hospital. In my spare time i like to go camping with my backpack. Would never say no to go party, i'm a bit of a student ;) Despite of my work i’m not always in the position to hang around with surfers.
CURRENT MISSION It took me 10 years to visit all cities of the alfabeto telefonico italiano: Ancona, Bari, Como, Domodossola, Empoli, Firenze, Genova, (Helsinki), Imola, Jesolo, (København), Livorno, Milano, Napoli, Otranto, Palermo, Quarto, Roma, Savona, Torino, Udine, Venezia, (York), and (Zadar). Only W (Washington) is missing and I'm okay with that. My new plan is to visit all 107 Italian provinces. Only 2 are still on my list: Enna and Sulcis Iglesiente. So that means two island revisits. After that the new plan will probably be: eat at all the famous slow food restaurants in Italy. Or visit all Dissapore-rated gelato shops. Both plans are already in action. Or maybe learn all official languages of the European Union to some extent (maybe A1). That would mean that I'd have to learn Irish, Finnish, Maltese, Portuguese, Croatian, Bulgarian, Romanian, Hungarian, Czech, Slovak, Slovenian, Greek, Latvian, Lithuanian, and last but not least: Polish. Please stop expanding the EU. In the meantime, I maintain a reading bingo chart in order to push me to read more and spend less time on the internet. So far it's working. Some places attract me just by their sound: Samarkand, Odessa, Socotra, Dar es Salaam, Baghdad, Lucknow, Manaus, La Paz, Vladivostok, Kiruna, Bonifacio, Antofagasta, Trabzon, Viterbo, Winnipeg, Isfahan, Vientiane, Irkutsk, ... I hope to get there one day. If someone offers me a job in any country ending in -stan, I'm in. And I would like to learn to pronounce Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch. ABOUT ME I look older than I am, but I act younger than I look. I have a son, born in April 2022, and he is the best. And since June 2026 we have a daughter as well, of course she's the best too. Currently teaching philosophy and geography in high school. I am not a full-time traveller anymore, but I still want to see the remaining provinces. I'm quiet until I get the opportunity to speak a foreign language. My wife says that I'm a pig. PHILOSOPHY Voglia di lavorare, saltami addosso - ma dimmi dove cadi, cosí mi sposto.
Hola! Nice to meet you! I’m Frank ☺️ I love to travel and meet new people from all over the world! I like to have long conversations about what makes people move, their backgrounds and culture and the country they live in or have lived in. I work in finance and in my free time I like to meet up with friends for drinks / see a movie / just talk etc. If you want me to share my house with you, please write a personal request.
Amo viajar a dedo. . . Paraguayan by birth, Argentine by choice, Paraguayan and Argentine at heart ❤️ I lived for 3 years in San Martín de los Andes, Patagonia, Argentina, and it's the closest thing to home I've had in a long time. My favorite place in Argentina is El Chaltén, Patagonia. I have it tattooed on my skin. I love hitchhiking. My first time was in Paraguay, and then I took a solo trip from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia. Nearly 3000 kilometers hitchhiking through Patagonia. The smiles of people fascinate me. I do journaling, send letters through regular mail, draw and paint in watercolor, acrylic, and digital. I love everything related to paper and I make my own sets of pretty stationery and fanzines. I’m passionate about analog photography. I’ve taken over 1700 photos, and my dream is to create a beautiful photo book. I like: Collecting cans with pretty designs. Chocolate (the better with almonds, but it can't have honey or caramel because I can't eat it 😅). Cheese. Deep conversations. Playing board games. Anything related to the universe. Drinking tea in my vintage tea sets. Cappuccino. Buying beautiful notebooks that I never use. Decorating the wall of my desk with postcards, prints, and any pretty paper. Indie rock, heavy metal, 70s/80s music, Hans Zimmer, among other musical styles. Watching series and movies. I don’t like eating very spicy food. Nor cilantro in large quantities. Nor sour things. Every time I call myself introverted, the people around me look at me strangely and tell me I’m not... I'll let you judge that for yourself 🤣 I like to share and meet people (that's why I’m on Couchsurfing), but I also need my space and alone time when hosting at home 😊
I love travelling and challenges, and I like pushing myself out of my comfort zone. I've biked from Prague to Venice, hitchiked for a week across Europe and went on multiple canoeing trips. I enjoy good conversations over a glass of beer about anything from everyday life to travel stories, science, or music, and I’m always curious to learn how other people live and think. In return I can share stories, play some country songs on the guitar, help with cooking or cleaning, and of course bring respect for your home, time, and boundaries. I'm new to couchsurfing, so I do not have many references yet, but the more I'm motivated to make new friends!
