CURRENT MISSION After 15 years away I returned to my hometown during Covid. If I have learned only one thing in the last 25 years it is that life is too short to surround yourself with people who hold you down. I have an obligation to myself to do what makes me happy. ABOUT ME Oh dear, that is a long story. I was born and raised in Germany, went to uni in the UK and then worked my way across Europe. 10 years ago, when Britain decided they no longer wanted to be part of the EU, I decided I no longer wanted to live in Britain and so I returned to Germany. PHILOSOPHY I have found God but I do not adhere to any of the common religions. I try not to offend anybody - as long as it doesn't involve slaughtering animals or human sacrifice in my flat my guests are free to practise their religion. My personal happiness is very important to me and sometimes making other people happy makes me happy. Sometimes life really is that simple.
I consider myself cosmopolitan. While recently retired I spent about 17 years of my professional life abroad, living in countries such as United States, Mexico, Brazil, Japan, Portugal, Poland or England. I love travelling whenever I have an opportunity. When at home I have an open house for anyone who likes to visit or stay. In 2015 I hosted a Syrian family of seven for several month. In January 2016 Wasal from Pakistan and Mohamed from Syria came along and soon after we were joined by Marcos, an intern from Curitiba in Brazil and Felipe, an exchange student from Michigan, USA. Some 6 to 12 month later Marcos and Felipe returned to their home countries and we were joined by Mohemeds two younger brothers Ammar and Ali in 2017. After almost a decade only recently they all got married, founded their own families and moved into their own homes nearby. Thus, while my family has grown substantially, there is again ample space in my home to take in visitors from all over the world. 😊
humorous, talkative, chaotic ;-)
I am an active, enthusiastic person. I like to try new things and make new experiences. Before my studies I did work and travelling in South America. I still like travelling in general. I did my Erasmus semester in Romania and afterwards travelled back to Germany through Eastern Europe. I work a lot at festivals and spent last year working at a surf camp in France. Right now I'm finishing up my bachelor's and can't wait to hit the road again and meet new people. In my free time, I do a lot of voluntary work for nature conservation, but I also love doing sports and trying out different activities. Of course, I also enjoy doing things with friends, like going out partying or having a relaxed games evening.

Variation is the spice of life, there is so much out there to learn and explore if you don't try to control things, is my motto. Embrace the unknown, connect the world! 🌍 Trying to improve my Italian, French, Dutch, fluent in German, English, Spanish.
