CURRENT MISSION Shining a light in this beautiful world. ABOUT ME Hi! my name is Maurice, a young man with many interest. The greatest thing in my life is my daugher Rosa, she is a living angel on earth. My passion is music, but I also love people. There are people in all sort of sizes, colours, ages, styles etc and that is what I find interesting: meeting all this different kind of people. In 2009 I graduated as a social worker, since then I worked a lot with refugees who escaped their home country; and as a social worker I also worked on Sint Eustatius and Saba in the Carribean. Every now and then I dj at festvials and parties. When I'm not busy with making and mixing muisic, I write stories. Last few years I also did several courses and studies, like TEFL (teaching English), Neurolymphatic & abdominal massage, Reiki 1, and I finished the Montessori Lower Elementary Teacher study. I lived 5 months in Spain, Valencia, and this was the start of finding more new cultures. I like to hitchhike or move to new cities in low budget style, in that way it stays a big adventure every time! like I've said, music is my passion! producing trance/house/yoga music, mixing all kinds of styles and go to the best dance gigs is worth dying for (figurely speaking of course) PHILOSOPHY Follow your heart and feeling, it's the best guideline. and be happy with no fear, laugh at the silly thing life brings you and take every opportunity to learn every time.
Hello! I would describe myself as a creative chaotic person. Every once in a while I want to go on an adventure to a different city or country for a few days, to meet new people and learn about all things art in that specific place. I also really like meeting (queer) people everywhere I go. I recently started hiking more so I might pop up in more remote villages as well 🙌🏼 During the summer(holidays) I really like to host someone once or twice, because I'll have more headspace than during the rest of the year. But don't hestitate to send me a message anyway, maybe you're in luck. (he/him) Some of my references used a different name to address me, I legally changed my name. The old name used is not my name anymore :) __________ For more references, scroll to why I'm on couchsurfing. I lost my login to my previous account but copy pasted my references to this new account :)
ENGLISH 2026 UPDATE: Moving to Leeuwarden, the Netherlands in August 2026, to start my master's degree studies. DISCLAIMER: I'm a very progressive individual, and I put effort in becoming more empathic and understanding of people and their circumstances. I cannot stand bigotry, racism, xenophobia, sexism, homophobia, fascism or anything of the sort. DO NOT CONTACT ME if you have such views. I'm a friendly introvert, who really enjoys travelling and deep conversations (I also like talking about dumb things haha). I love to learn about cultures and languages. I'm a Chemical Engineer, and have also worked as an English teacher. I'm passionate about languages, sustainability, the environment and nature. I love music & films. I don't ever discard the possibility of making art for a living one day. Born and raised in Asunción, Paraguay, around the downtown area, so I'd say I'm a legit local guide. I love food, I started cooking rather recently, and I think I'm alright. I'm great at eating though! NO ME CONTACTES si tenés esas ideas.
Hi! I am from the Netherlands and I work as a software engineer. Because I can work remotely, I have the opportunity to travel a big part of the year. I have done several multiple month trips this way, to South America, South East Asia, the Balkans and Turkey. Usually I travel quite slowly, I take my time to get to know a place, I like to meet local people and get to know the local culture, but I also enjoy going to museums and going to local restaurants and cafes. Besides that I enjoy other things such as hiking, playing guitar, cooking, outdoor sports, reading (about psychology, spirituality, history, economics, geopolitics and many other topics) and programming (my career is also my hobby). I have done multiple trips of at least half a year, to Asia, South America, Eastern Europe and the Middle East. My favorite way of traveling is by motorbike. I like to plan as little as possible to leave room for spontaneous ideas and random encounters. In the future I want to buy my own motorbike or campervan and work online while traveling with it. For me that's the ultimate freedom.

Took a gap year and now I’m working with people who have an intellectual disability
We’re Laura and Mattia, a couple of students trying to balance a love for travelling and our bachelor's degree :)) These two passions made us meet: coming respectively from Portugal and Italy, we met in the Netherlands, Leeuwarden, studying the same programme! We’re now at our 2nd year of study! The year before, 2023/2024, we both left home for our gap year, starting to travel and live abroad by ourselves, Laura to Asia and Mattia in Berlin. At the end of our experience we met and already felt there was a shared passion; when we decided to hitchhike together from Leeuwarden to Paris and back (while couch-surfing!) we found each other in all aspects of traveling: adventure, connecting with locals, walking a lot, seeking for the sun, sharing stories, stinking… After that experience, we started a new journey together <3 Couchsurfing is an important aspect of our shared traveling! We’re looking forward for a life of full of responsible traveling adventures!
Born in China, raised in the Netherlands. Felt always in between countries, and always curious to see the world. Call me Jing, nice to meet you. 🌻 I have been a nomad for almost four years, I lived a year in Iceland and after that I decided to travel. I learned in a hard way that plans will not always go as you expect so I decided to trust my intuition, go with the flow and my motto became: no plan is the best plan. I've traveled many places since and even met my biological parents for the first time. I have collected some memories and stories to share. I love the slow travel, to really be able to immerse myself in a culture. Get to know the people and do what I love to do: wandering, taking photos, meeting new people, hiking and being surrounded by nature. Now I am back in the Netherlands and finally creating a base again. As I have had the luck to meet so many beautiful and interesting people I am more then happy to return the favour. As my home is still in progress I am not sure if I can host yet but if you're happy to sleep on a couch, share some stories I'd be happy to invite you over or just to meet up for a coffee and I can show you around and I'd be happy to give back the kindness I've received. 🌿
I'm a 20 year old guy from the north of The Netherlands, started using CS a year ago when cycling from my Country to Istanbul. I have not been using CS for very long but I have already fallen in love with it after experiencing how hospitable people are, how open and accepting they can be, and just how plain fun it is to meet other people when traveling alone. I regard myself as an open minded person (whatever that means), like hearing other people tell about their culture, town/history, or anything they have much knowledge about. I am always open to hearing opinions other than mine, because maybe there is something I can learn or change in my beliefs! I do not pretend to know everything, on the contrary. I like to stay humble. For example, I always try to be respectful towards other people, whatever they may be like, because generally I don't know what's going on in their lives... everyone has their bad moments or days.
Am friendly pensioner, live with girlfriend. Active with all kind of things at my rowing club, neighbourhood a subsidy foundation my garden etc. Like cycling around in new towns and seeing friends. When I’m at home we like receiving guests.
