ABOUT ME I'm currently travelling while going through a self growth journey and rediscovering my life. CURRENT MISSION THE KING CRAB CORSAIR ABOUT ME Well, I am Magnus. Me in a nutshell: I love to hear and tell amazing stories. For over ten years I called Vienna my base, but I also lived in Bucharest, worked as a barkeeper in a Swiss village called Beckenried, studied in Moscow, worked in a hotel in Flanders, studied in Paris and in Montréal, where I had been working on my PhD thesis on Québécois and Irish Cinema. Then Film Academy at KHM in Cologne, working on year-long archaeological excavations and some other (filmy) things, amongst others joint film projects with other media artists and film makers around Europe (i.e. "Istanbul Express"; "Migrating Arts Academies Project"; "Kinobus Project") the "KOSHERLAND" film (a portion out of my novel "THE KING CRAB CORSAIR" that I adapted for screen and directed) which premiered at the German Film Academy, went on to screen at 100+ film festivals worldwide and got bought by several TV channels. Touring film festivals around the globe from Europe to China with something that you created yourself was an incredible experience. I really recommend this, it´s so much more fun than "only" traveling. Just like touring the German speaking countries with my novel "THE SWEET LIFE" (which is the adventurous story of a motley crue of Moldovan sugar factory workers during the collapse of the USSR en route to a better life in Western Europe told in retrospective to a suicidal Italian couple fired from the Italian sugar factory of Termoli because of the euro-crisis) and getting to know my readership face to face. I just finished the theatre series "Pistol. Psychiatry. Prostitution" with 4 amazing dramatists from Berlin and Vienna (premiere at Schauspielhaus Vienna). Very grateful for that amazing experience. I am now living in Berlin and working on a new exciting full length feature film project, the black comedy "THE WHARF" and the novel "THE KING CRAB CORSAIR" set in Kamchatka. Other than that I would like to mention my avid interest in "medieval swordfighting". My professional ambition however is to write and direct movies and write novels. After studying a couple of dead celtic languages and digging up a bunch of iron period relics it seemed like the next best fun thing to do for me...;) Another thing I´ve been doing quite a lot is traveling. PHILOSOPHY Life is good, but good life is better!
