Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING I host for 6 months of the year and I surf for a few months as fortunately I am now semi-retired (but not retiring :-). COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE It's simply a great idea! I've hosted several sets of people and it's been very interesting! Very worth while. I've also benefitted from being hosted by, and getting to know, some great people.
Musique, films et livres
Fave films? So many but include Apocalypse Now, Life of Brian, Brick, Inception, Perfume: the story of a murderer, Unforegiven, Birdy, Vertigo, Trainspotting, Casablanca, Play it again Sam ... Books? Loads! Authors include Iain Banks, Ian Rankin, Chris Brookmyre, Steinbeck, Hemingway, Orwell, Terry Pratchett, Iris Murdoch, Graham Greene, John Le Carre, Robert Rankin, Dostoyevsky, Philip K. Dick, Robert Graves, Bukowski, Mary Renault ... Music - most things from classical to rock (maybe not Death Punk Thrash Metal) but I listen mainly to MOR stuff like Fleetwood Mac, the Stones, Blues, Soul and Jazz.
Une chose incroyable que j'ai faite
Sky-dived over Lake Taupo; white water rafted around Victoria Falls; canoed for 4 days down the Zambezi; got lost in Kakadu; helped conserve turtles in Costa Rica; dived in Antigua.
Enseigner, apprendre, partager
I can perhaps give an insight into the history (William Wallace and his band of merry marauders; Robert Burns etc.), geography and natural history of this area of Scotland.
Ce que je peux offrir à mes hôtes
My travelling, and the UK.
Mes centres d'intérêt
Sport, natural history (especially birding), science, comedy, film, literature, gardening, and TRAVEL!
