ABOUT ME I love words and music and bringing people together. I am a musician, a songwriter, a paddler, a banjo-lover, a conservation scientist, a bookworm. I own a nice piece of land near Riding Mountain National Park, Manitoba, where I live with my dog, Luna. It's a stunning place to visit and would be happy to host you if you're in the area.

Musique, films et livres
The Lives of Others, Amelie, The Fall, Fantastic Mr Fox Music is everything. Give me anything from Gillian Welch to Rage Against the Machine. I want to fill my house with books. I'm off to a good start! Ondaatje is so good (In the Skin of a Lion, The English Patient, Coming Through Slaughter); Barney's Version - Richler; Fall On Your Knees - MacDonald; Marquez breaks my heart - Love in the Time of Cholera, 100 Years of Solitude. Canadian poets are my favourite - Nowlan, Michaels, Purdy, Moure, Atwood.
Une chose incroyable que j'ai faite
I have toured with my music all over Canada, and into the United Kingdom and Europe.

Mes centres d'intérêt
Creativity; making things with my hands. Music - playing guitar, claw hammer banjo, harmonica, songwriting, singing. The joy of sharing music with others. I love the outdoors and sinking my hands into dirt. I am an active conservationist in my job and my lifestyle, and believe firmly that all things on this planet are special and connected. Plants are enthralling - I get really excited about trees, fiddle heads, mushrooms and all kinds of medicinal or practical uses of plants and fungi. I love getting callouses from chopping wood, and smelling campfire in my hair (or yours). Get me in a canoe on a river or lake (preferably with bottles of wine, good friends and good food), and I'll be ecstatic. I love the smell of sun on skin. Scotch. I love how words can travel over distances and last years and years. Poems, lyrics. I'm always striving to become a better writer. The smell of old books, rummaging through used book stores, libraries. Finding great new authors and poets. Sending/receiving letters, wool (everything - socks, sweaters, blankets), autumn colours and smells, dancing, winter, taking time to hermit, dark humour.
