I love the outdoors and sinking my hands into dirt. I am an active conservationist in my job and my lifestyle, and believe firmly that all things on this planet are special and connected. Plants are enthralling - I get really excited about trees, fiddle heads, mushrooms and all kinds of medicinal or practical uses of plants and fungi. I love getting callouses from chopping wood, and smelling campfire in my hair (or yours). Get me in a canoe on a river or lake (preferably with bottles of wine, good friends and good food), and I'll be ecstatic. I love the smell of sun on skin. Scotch. I love how words can travel over distances and last years and years. Poems, lyrics. I'm always striving to become a better writer. The smell of old books, rummaging through used book stores, libraries. Finding great new authors and poets. Sending/receiving letters, wool (everything - socks, sweaters, blankets), autumn colours and smells, dancing, winter, taking time to hermit, dark humour.
