I’m a Mexican biologist who left his home country seventeen years ago, driven by the passion for exploring the diversity of nature and human cultures. This journey has taken me to places I never imagined living in. This year, I moved to Switzerland, and I'm eager to get to know this place, which I will be calling home for now. I joined Couchsurfing in its golden years (2008) when it was powered by the voluntary work of a supportive community. I loved it so much that it turned my platform to connect with the world. From remote villages in Southeast Asia to tourist hubs in Central Europe, I have surfed and hosted dozens of times between 2008 and 2011. Couchsurfing was to me the place to "create a better world" where money wasn't a barrier to traveling and connecting with people. Much has changed since then. In 2013, I became less engaged when Couchsurfing turned for-profit. But here I am, over ten years later, trying to prove that the community hasn't entirely died and that it's still possible to travel consciously, connect with incredible people, and change the world while doing so. Will you join me on this quest?
