CURRENT MISSION to graduate moon school and become a moon ABOUT ME most people don't call me by my first name, it's usually benak or otus - you can choose. i was born at about 3 in the afternoon and i tried to come out feet first because going out head first is scary and not amenable to running away, if needed. i've never broken a bone, though that doesn't mean i haven't tried. blurgh blagh lowercaseletters wuuuuugggghhh PHILOSOPHY the fundamental human drive is to stack "make it new" - ezra pound snacks on snacks on snacks.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING trying to revive hospitality. i'm now offically a pioneer, that's pretty cool COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE i just like waking up to strangers in my living room...or floor...not my bathroom floor though. i've traveled big trips twice now with couchsurfing (once with someone else and once solo), hosted for a few years, and defend it every chance i get.
Musique, films et livres
okay, before, i had just a huge listing of things i like but i realized it is easier to read and search if i group them, so hear it is: MUSIC: andrew bird animal collective avalanches black dice bob dylan bright eyes built to spill butthole surfers captain beefheart chales mingus clouddead ccr dan deacon dirty projectors dirty three django reinhardt faust fiery furnances flaming lips grizzly bear guided by voices interpol jesus lizard joanna newsom king crimson lcd soundsystem miles davis modest mouse my bloody valentine neil young neutral milk hotel orb pavement pere ubu pixies residents slint sonic youth tim buckley tom waits tortoise velvet underground violent femmes white stripes woody guthrie wu-tang clan MOVIES: nashville citizen kane 2001 a space odyssey rushmore big lebowski dead man un chien andalou one flew over the cuckoos nest (i don't know movies as well as music but i love to learn) LITERATURE: shakespeare james joyce david foster wallace gertrude stein john updike leo tolstoy vladmir nabakov james schuyler michel foucault michel montaigne ernest hemingway mark twain (i like reading more than most things but i'm bored making these lists)
Une chose incroyable que j'ai faite
i saw, in my rearview mirror, a car right behind me roll about 3 times in the air and then at least one more on the ground after trying to see around a semi, catching a tire, and overcompensating. it caused a huge pile-up on i-80 and was really fucking terrifying, but also technically an amazing thing I've seen. Okay, I'm leaving this up from when CS used to title this section "One Amazing Thing I've Seen or Done". CS done fucked with all my old profile stuff.
