CURRENT MISSION PhD in Norway. As in, doing a PhD, whilst living in Norway. Imagine doing a PhD on Norway. You;d get bored. Well, I'd get bored. ABOUT ME Parents injected me with the travel bug when I was much younger, and caught a more aggressive strain of it in Europe in 2008. I'm currently living in Norway, studying the effects of climate change and invasive species on freshwater ecosystems. Enjoy a good movie, book, comic, beer, game of football, recipe, holiday. PHILOSOPHY A lot of people tiptoe through life quietly to arrive safely at death.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
Meet people. See stuff. Get to know places better. The usual.
Musique, films et livres
I have a 'Never Go Back' policy. Basically, if something from my childhood was fkn tops, do NOT go back and watch that, 'cos it just might be rubbish. So if any of the following, are actually terrible, I blame nostalgia. The Passenger Seat - Robert Corbet, The Beach - Alex Garland, anything by Frederick Forsyth and most stuff by John le Carre. Consider the Lobster too. Matthew Reilly books are my guilty pleasure. I love sitting down in a cafe with a book and a coffee/beer. So many movies. X-Men, Marvel films, THE LEGO MOVIE (I'm not joking, it's amazing). Godzilla (except for that 1999 abomination). Prisoners, Silver Linings Playbook, 36 Quai des Orfeuvres, Anchorman.
Une chose incroyable que j'ai faite
Climbing Mount Sinai. New Year's in Zakopane. The temples of Angkor. Reykjavik.
Enseigner, apprendre, partager
Figure it out for yourself, learn from your own mistakes, not other peoples'. I realise the irony of this advice. See The Lego Movie though.
Ce que je peux offrir à mes hôtes
Asian food. A great deal of generalisations about Norwegians and Germans.
Mes centres d'intérêt
I'll listen to practically any music, and can guide you around the finer points of Australian hip hop. Love learning new languages, discussing other people's travel stories (and sharing mine of course). I'm a football (soccer) fan, but I'll enjoy most sports, though I can't promise I'll ever understand American football or rugby. Bit of a movie geek.
