CURRENT MISSION To take a gap year (or so) with my lovely and talented girlfriend and find the next project. ABOUT ME Former journalist for the U.S. Antarctic Program, which means I wrote about all of the cool research that happens around the southernmost continent. Now a freelance writer and editor who is taking the next year or so off to travel with my awesome girlfriend and partner, Mel, who is a professional massage therapist, foodie-chef, and too many other things to name.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING Part of the CS groups Denver, Colorado and Bicycling, as well as Denver volunteers, though I've been a slacker on that one. I've hosted in Denver and have used CS in several places around the world.
Musique, films et livres
A few favorite authors: Michael Chabon, Philip Roth, David Eggers, Umberto Eco, Milan Kundera, Paul Theroux, Michael Moorcock, Jon Krakauer, Ernest Hemingway, John Updike
Une chose incroyable que j'ai faite
Spent a winter at the South Pole. Also one of the longest things I've ever done. Bicycled across parts of Australia, Indonesia and Malaysia. Lived in the Marshall Islands for more than three years and did A LOT of scuba diving. Why stop at one thing?
Ce que je peux offrir à mes hôtes
Stories about Antarctica and penguins. Mel likes to leave a trail of her famous pork and shrimp dumplings in many of the places we stay awhile.
Mes centres d'intérêt
When not working: Cycling, running, hiking, yoga ... live music and theatre ... beer brewing and imbibing ... reading and writing ... procrastinating on learning the guitar ... and planning the next adventure.
