IMPORTANT: I am not verified on couchsurfing. I used to be under the old system (member since 2010) until they started charging a lot of money for it when they changed their policies during covid. I think it is ridiculous the 'verification' is seen as some kind of proof of identification when I was verified for years already and now my phone number and passport became 'unverified' since I refuse to pay 70 euros.
