Hello! I'm Abby, I'm from Durham New Hampshire. I graduated high school in June and after working a lot, I've hit the road to start traveling! This past year I've been traveling through Europe doing Wwoof and Workaway, learning about agriculture and sustainability. I love discussing the environment, sustainability, politics, hiking, skiing- anything! Just a good conversation with good company.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
While I've stayed in hostels and definitely think they're nice to meet people, I think it can be kind of lonely especially when backpacking on your own. Couch surfing is an opportunity to meet and connect with people, to feel a sense of community wherever you go- and to me this is an important aspect of traveling we often overlook.
Musique, films et livres
Anything Wes Anderson- my favorite is The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. I also love the movies Amélie, and Mr. Nobody. Don't have specific favorite books, but some of my favorite writers are: Ernest Hemingway, John Krakhauer, John Irving, and Michael Ondaatje. Music- really all things and everything. It's ever changing. Right now I've been listening to a lot of War on Drugs, Modest Mouse, Vundabar, Bob Dylan, and Beck.
Une chose incroyable que j'ai faite
I actually graduated from high school a year early with the intention of doing this trip!
Enseigner, apprendre, partager
My mother is Vietnamese, and she has kindly passed along her recipes to me. If you want, I can teach you to make some delicious Vietnamese food!
Ce que je peux offrir à mes hôtes

Mes centres d'intérêt
I love to read, write, and learn. I plan on studying anthropology at University, and am really interested in combining anthropology and sustainable agriculture. I'm pretty involved in environmental, social, and political activism at home. In my free time, I like to cycle, hike, run, ski, and climb. Staying active and outdoors is very important to me, and even while traveling I try to run as much as possible. One day, I hope to cycle across the United States.
