I am struggling to be the perfect version of me. Always almost getting closer and closer but never there. I believe that this life is the final extent of our being. My goal is to live broadly, deeply, and deliberately. Hence traveling is a one fine choice but without meeting people is futile, and empty so I am here. My late father was a farmer. He taught me the virtue of patience, essence of toiling, and that simplicity is beauty often overlooked. My mother is a gradeschool teacher. I learned from her the habit of reading, listening intently, importance of self-restraint, and keeping connections with people. One of my interests in learning different languages. Not serious about this but I appreciate learning some words or phrases, sometimes of deep meaning. I have always believed that words are powerful and not meaningless. I am fluent with English, Tagalog, Ilocano, and Pangasinan. While I barely understand Cebuano, and Kapampangan because of my varying work assignments. Call me Carl/Carlo/Carlos. I am often called by those names. Although my Japanese friends call me Hiroshi ヒロシ. My friend Seigo gave me that name because it means "wide" and he sees me as a man with wide knowledge, according to him. I kind of love that, now.
