CURRENT MISSION My overarching mission is to learn about cultures, and specifically about their architecture, geography, and... dance culture! As a dancer and academic on dance, I am very interested on the nature of dance in each of the countries I visit. I also aim to impart what I know about my culture as a western Canadian, especially those wishing to visit the city where I live, Calgary, and the areas around it. ABOUT ME What can I say? I am extremely easy going... am amiable with just about any personality type. I am extremely interested in the arts, especially dance. As a professional, I am a contemporary dancer, but I have a lot of experience in other dance forms and am always looking to learn more! In addition, I am also a musician, academic, and traveler. HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING I started with couchsurfing in 2011 in Ireland - I had a great experience and realised that there is no better way to view the places I visit than through the lens of a local. I am always willing to teach people about Canada, my home, and to set myself up as a contact for those traveling to my area of Canada. For those learning English, I have great patience and a real love to teach English. I love to talk about my craft - dance - and feel that it is a field of knowledge that has yet to be talked about en masse. So, I am here to help you and others learn more about dance - everything from the concert forms to the folk forms to the somatic forms and in between! However, any conversation is a good conversation. For those interested, I can also teach a dance or two :-)
